Easiest thing would just be to uninstall the high res texture pack.

I'm sure there are othere ways to do it, I believe theres a cfg floating around for fps improvement....

Delete the materials folder.
Using a high fps config whilst having the hi res textures installed defeats the purpose of the hi res textures in the 1st place.

That's what I was gonna say, you can use my fps enhancer, but it would be kinda silly, cuz textures would be useless.... just remove them.

You might want to look at a new video card with only 61-70 fps. I sometimes have trouble playing with 80-90 Fps.

Nvidia 7600GT I've gotten 250+ on certain maps and even hit 300 before. I've heard of people with single 8600/8800 AVERAGING around 300-310+

its actualy 60, but for some reason I can see the difference from 60-120, so I cap my fps at 120.

I'm curious, if you have an LCD monitor with max 75 fps, isn't in-game fps showing anything over 75 fps actually wasted?

If vsync isnt on you will get what is called "tearing" you will see horizontal line where the images dont seem to meet correctly.

I find having Vsync on messes my mouse movement kind of makes it less responsive, anyone else get that? and know a cure?

there is no known limit to what fps the eye can see afaik

I'd like to see the study that determined it. Likely flawed or misleading like so many other inquiries.

I think its more a case of what framerate looks smooth rather than how many the eye can see.
It is believed that to a blue bottle fly lights seem to flicker where as to the human eye it looks constant, we are bothe seeing the same frequency (or frames) just our eyes are not abe to distinguish each individual pulse.

MeekMeekle dug up an interesting article on this exact subject........if I could only find it again.........something to do with the human eye using motion blur to compensate for RL fps, and since that same motion blur cannot be duplicated in games yet, that is why we see such differences between say 30 fps to 85 fps.

Maybe he still has it.
