Stage6 to Shut Down on February 28... time to go download as much as possible... and say good bye.

A lot of people were hot that they were only giving us 3 days notice too.

I hear about people trying to replicate it and save its content etc. dont know how true it is. :

The people that run stage6 are idiots they say they closing it down because of the amount of money they are spending on bandwidth and that it is unsustainable. Well would of they thought that from the beginning when they set up the site where did they expect the money to come from if they are providing free service and only allowing small adverts like google on there site. Its clear they have a better product and service that no other site has provided. I don't believe they tryied hard enuff to keep it alive and had taken the easy way out. It would of been a better idea to create video on demand or asked for membership fee like all you have to do is look at the amount of users that uses stage6 so the costumer base is there to make money and keep it running so there is something fishy about this site closing.

Its such a shame that my time spent on encoding and up loading video such as frag videosb was for nothing. Allot of great content is going to vanish off the web what a great loss. :evil:

This site must have gain popularity when I didn't have a computer cause I have never heard of stage6...can't miss what you didn't know lol. Youtubes all I've ever known lol, ignorance truely is bliss I guess.

It's clearly going down because of legal issues. They probably came to a compromise to let them go down with respect, rather than just closing the shit down without warning.

damn well i guess cooperate America wins again anyway i went on a mathon to watch as many of my shows on stage 6 before it closes will be missed and for those u just heard of stage6 well it beats the hell out of utube only thing leading to it demis is that there where greedy idiots running it.

Yea I went there for the first time when this thread was started. I downloaded couple of things. Too bad they shut it down. Some good stuff there.
