My steam is stuck on the updating screen. The percentage moves up slowly, stops or closes before it reaches 100 %. Any ideas on how to fix this

i have been having the same problem. mine wont go past 1% though. it gets to 1 and then goes back to 0 and then just disappears. i tried everything i could find on the steam site and even reinstalled steam and it wont work. i was assuming that my school had the port that i needed blocked but it worked a week ago. all of a sudden, it stopped.

I would love if steam did that as it normaly would but the percentage just stayed still for ages. It works now but seems to be very unstable

mine has been on 3% for 3 hours.

3rd time its done it now. It seems to be able to update at like 5 AM but any other time it just dosent work
