I see the point you’re trying to make... and I agree that some threads are getting way out of hand recently, like posting about something that happened, or posting a convo just to humiliate another player, this is getting really sad, this forum was supposed to do the opposite and encourage newcomers…

I have even received complaints that the forums are turning to shit. For the longest time we didn't even have an off-topic section here and it was added upon community request. I am all for listening to the community, but if things keep going in the negative manner they have been recently, I am going to have to formalize the rules a lot more and maybe remove the off-topic section. That would suck because that is not the way I like to run things.

At this point I would encourage everyone to just stop and think for a second as to why HL2DMU is here. Unification of the community and growth of the game are the goals. If you are coming here to just post a bunch of negative and hateful BS, you should probably think twice because eventaully it is just going to ruin what we have here.

heh, tis meh more than likely who started this, and is probably the only one who did it. and yes I do realize that it was wrong of me to do so for that I'm sorry, I guess in forums it isn't ok for 'me' to be as open minded as I was so I apologize but I also felt that you guys were probably ragging on me in this thread for doing it, which I don't blame you but still going against what you said before about talking about other people in a thread isn't good mkay, but again I see that it's ok here and I understand that I took it out of line. sorry for doing that, and sorry WT for making your job a lot harder dud, ttyl peeps

I think freedom of speech is very important.

These so called "retarded" threads are the only reason why I come here everyday. Probably true to others. If a few idiots can't control what they post, well, you should take care of them, not the entire community. An off-topic section is key.

It's not just you man (and I know you didn't think it would have been that bad to post what you did, you even asked if it was ok), it's just that lately there have been threads and posts which should have never been written... you can see WT warning players everywhere.
I think most people just got used to the fact that you can post almost anything in the cafeteria section, so they started doing these reckless posts.
Hopefully, people understand in which direction the U is going, and where it should really go, therefore preventing future problems.

Its the long winter of our discontent. Yup. Its cold. March, spring around the corner. Folks have been snowed in or just lacking solar power.

Should work out when the days have longer sunlight and it warms up.
Course, then everyone will out doing stuff, but maybe not in a flaming sorta way.

Yeah teto sorry to make you feel single out, no this didn't start with you it's been going for a few threads and just kept adding...Even though I personally may have feelings against vision...I tried not to show it just because I didn't want to add fuel to the fire. As I edited my post earlier...even I was guilty of player bashing and apologized. Thanks for being man enough to apologize too. You showed class.

Look at the title of this website: "The HL2DM University". What this means to me is a place completely dedicated to Half Life 2 Deathmatch and all aspects of the GAME. I don't think things like bitching about other players really belongs here. University, I take that as meaning a place of learning, growing of knowledge on the subject - HL2DM in this case. Lets try to make sure this site remains dedicated to HL2DM and not about your personal problems!

Early 2007 I posted on a thread in the Steam forums related to how DM is dying and losing its popularity. I can't remember what was posted but on March 23rd, 2007 I received a PM from Walking Target saying "Replying to your post about breathing life back into the game...some of us are working on a project: http://www.hl2dm-university.com"

I thought "about time this game is going to get the attention it needs". Here we are and look at the direction this site is headed. Lets try to stay focused on what really matters!! HL2DM!!!

I don't really know you but.......*hug*, and I agree... I'll will save my BS for the vents/scrims. Thats all I can do, change how *I* behave. Trying to change the opinions/behavior of others is difficult and, over the internet - nigh impossible. But I am empathic to dbanimal and his position, it is a common one among people here at this site, and I will try to tell people to keep it out of these forums. And tell it to myself...
