I am not sure if all of you are aware of a couple of people from our community that have decided to move on.

[IWU] Zohar IMed me last week and said he was leaving the game. There were various reasons that I wont go into here, but he decided he needed to do something else. Zohar is a very good player and I always found him to be a pleasure to play with for a scrim partner and in general. He never had a bad word to say to anyone and he was always a nice person to have around. The community will miss him.

In addition, Khaos's own axeman has also decided he needs to spend more time on real life and family things. Many of you have scrimmed with him on draft night, and played the game with him on our server and others. We at Khaos are greatly saddened by his having to leave us, but we know that real life must take precedence. We will miss him greatly.

yeah I know sometimes I feel like I need to go outside even just for 2 mins to get off my ass lol.

Axe and Zohar were cool in my book, and like Para said neither said a bad word about anyone. I'll miss playing them.

Heh this makes me think about how pale I am right now from being inside all winter and playing hl2dm like its my second job. I'm gonna take a picture of myself right before my landscaping job is supposed to start and then take one at the end of fall after 3 seasons landscaping and compare the difference. Its gonna be ridiculous. Everyone here is required to take up a summer activity so we all don't go crazy and leave. lol Who wants to come and slackline with me eh? uh oh I just realized im turning into a carny eek! Spinning poi, juggling and slacklining, now all I need to do is learn how to ride a unicycle...which would be awesome! lol

Winter is definately the time for excesive gameplay though. Once all the snow is gone and its t-shirt weather is when I start to feel like I could be spending my time better. Seriously though who wants to come slacklining? The only person i have to slackline with is this crazy girl I went to highschool with, who also moved to bozeman MT after we graduated. Arg I need some carny people out here in MT.

Yea in a month or so we are going to get our boat back in the water and I wont be playing DM most Friday and Saturday nights cause we stay on the boat most weekends and go fishing weather permitting. I have come to find I hate TV now (freaking stupid reality shows and who wants to watch American Idols (a.k.a fools), seriously) so I play DM instead. I enjoy reading but usually reserve half an hour to do that before I go to sleep, I dont like to spend hours at a time reading either due to all the damn reading I had to do in Grad School.

@Paradox - I agree tv does suck but the History Channel rocks and there a couple good shows, House, Scrubs, Anthony Bourdaine No Reservations, Two and A Half Men, Futurama, and of course the all mighty South Park.

I almost never watch tv....I'd rather be in the pc.
I however like most of the shows shown on WB channel. I looove two and a half men ...that rocks ^^

Well shit, I'll miss them both. Just got to meet Zohar not too long ago. Both are stand-up guys.

Epoch has me confused with "slacklining". I'm thinking tightlining? Yanno, fishing.

Para's boat sounds like a nice diversion.

As for TV, I've pretty much given up on it. I canceled cable 10 years ago and never looked back. When the wind blows from just the right direction... I get two channels.

They will be back at some point, HL2DM once in your blood takes more than dialysis to filter out.
Real life will always take priority at different times as it should, but the <3 for this game runs deep in almost all who have played it seriously and the community is second to none.

What is all this talk about leaving the game!?!? Sounds to me like the people who need to make a change, as in, spending more time with family, getting some sun - simple enough! Do those things, just cut down your time playing DM. To quti completely is absolutely absurd!! Have you heard of prioritizing your time? It's a bummer these great players are quitting, but at the same time I wonder what is wrong with them that they can't work it out somehow. Is it the bugs that's making them leave? Deal with it!! Every game has bugs of some sort, it's unfortunate but it happens. As someone else mentioned above, I play more in the Winter than any other time just for the obvious reasons. I too have family and other priorities but it all works out. I would never quti playing this game for any reason. The time spent playing may be reduced now and then but I will never leave this game!! Sorry for the whining but that's my 2 cents worth, plus I feel like hammered shit today so that helped add a little fuel to the fire.

Yeah I don't think i'll stop playing this game until hl3dm comes out lol. I stop for 7 months cause I didn't have a comp and that just sucked, so many times I had urges just to get some quick fragging in but I couldn't because no comp. Now that I have a comp I aint never leaving, I may play a lot less during the summer months but I'm here for good.
CellarDweller wrote:Epoch has me confused with "slacklining". I'm thinking tightlining? Yanno, fishing.
Heh yeah thats not the first time I've been confused with an angler. "Slacklining" as I refer to it is far closer to tight rope walking, but as the name implies the line is not "tight," it very elastic and wobbly while still taught enough to keep you fromm touching the ground when walking the line. Most lines are made of 1" climbing webbing, which is a flat piece of tubular webbing which is very strong (tensile strength of 4000+ lbs.) and extremely flexible. Usually when I setup a line it is about equal height with my arm pits at 50' long, and the line usually bows down like 1.5-2 feet as I walk it. Its great fun, if no one has ever seen or tried it I HIGHLY suggest it, it feels so cool. It can takes a couple days for some people to be able to stand for their first time, but once your there taking steps is far easier to learn. The equipment is cheap too.

It takes some getting used to, I found a good pair of shoes for it and am going to starting jumps this summer so I'll be slacking in shoes mostly this year. Barefoot can get painful at times, but remember its a flat piece of webbing not round like rope, its very comfortable most of the time. If people still can't picture it there are vids on youtube I'm sure of it.

Paradox

2008-03-27 00:16:28

Yea around here, if someone wishes you "tight lines" it means good luck fishing or catch em up! Cause the line "goes tight" when you have a fish on.

You can try but you wont be successful.Once you get in, there is no out.

good luck quitting d00dz, and see you in the next few weeks on your new steam id's or w/e lol.
