Sorry to hear this Blas, but I know how ya feel.
I often wondered how some people (myself included) could spend so much time playing the game and well lets face it, its really addicting I've suffered from the addiction myself. Also you add in the part about trying to be the best, trying to get your team to be the best and it just takes a toll on you sometimes. It's like you get to a point where you get a rep as a really good player and a really good team, then you start to not have as much fun cuz your to worried about maintaining that rep and always making a good showing no matter what your doing (matches, pubbing w/e).
I'm not trying to say this is what happened within UG, but it is something I've experienced.

The other day I was in a pub and actually saw a top player (not gonna name him, so no one ask please) from a top 3 clan, start to bitch at one of his clanmates for not having a positive KDR. In his words he said "your making our clan look bad" That made me sick, stuff like that is pathetic and actually made the clan look far worse than any players score or KDR. These types of things just tear teams apart eventually.

If you plan to do well in hl2dm you HAVE to dedicate a lot of time to this game to get to the top and stay there, unless your one of the golden few. Trying to maintain a team is even more of a headache at times as people just have different schedules and things going on IRL, throw in CAL with its strict deadlines and cut offs and teams who are just plain uncooperative when it comes to scheduling and the fun fades real fast.

Awhile back I started to have some issues IRL with work and other things that I was neglecting and it really does come down to moderation. I had to take a break for awhile, get my shit together and get away from trying to be so competitive. I came back and really only play a game or two at a time, overall no more than a hr a day, unless I just have absolutely nothing better to do, which lets face it even going outside and taking a walk is a better more healthy thing to do.

Anymore I could care less about losing matches or not being the top in pubs, I just play for fun now and its much more enjoyable. I think more than anything I just enjoy being a part of the community seeing the same people and having a good time playing with skilled players.

Hope you don't disappear for too long, I always enjoy the challenge of playing against you.

yea tell me about it I remember when me and hidden first thought of making a clan for fun, but somehow that fun got lost during they way. :evil:
