Need advice- musical instruments

First, some background:
So me and my roommate are sitting around one day listening to "over the rainbow/what a wonderful world" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and he says to me "dude I'm going to get a ukulele." Well, I can't be left out, so I start searching for an instrument that deviates even more from mainstream. After awhile, I decide on a didgeridoo, seek out one on ebay, and learn to play. I'm still learning the different mechanics of it, but I'm coming along nicely. Only problem was that we needed something that would compliment a didgeridoo in sound, since a didg is pretty much a bass instrument. Today my roommate ordered a jew harp, since it sounds sorta like a didg except higher pitch, easier to play, and greater range of notes. You can even play specific songs, so it'll be a perfect counterpart to my didg.

Background out of the way, now I need an instrument that will go well with a ukulele that I can play. I've already tried the didg, and it doesn't work well. I need something not too expensive (under 30 bucks for a decent instrument), and something that is very different from a uke but also sounds well with it. And as you can probably guess, we want something not ordinary. I was thinking a pan flute.

Any ideas? 8)

Harmonica, huh. I would of never thought of that, haha. We've got a harmonica here so I might have to learn to play it.

About the melodica, that's the first time I've ever heard of that. Pretty interesting though. I was thinking of something more portable and, well, older. Something that has an ancient or at least old feel to it.

Thanks though ^_^

A Recorder. A Sort of primitive clarinet that sounds beautiful.
OR a pan flute.
OR a pin Whistle.

I placed a bid on a pan flute. I like it because it's got history from all of the world associated with it, including greek and south american. This is going to be great :D

As far as your 2 man band concept goes i'd definitaly try to mix with a guitar as the didgeridoo really acts like a bass.
Works great with percussions too. Alot of people has been using it in techno/electro styles.

Here's some example i found and others i already knew about:

Out of all the above possibly the one you might wanna look into the most as far as playing with other people goes:
