First, some background:
So me and my roommate are sitting around one day listening to "over the rainbow/what a wonderful world" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and he says to me "dude I'm going to get a ukulele." Well, I can't be left out, so I start searching for an instrument that deviates even more from mainstream. After awhile, I decide on a didgeridoo, seek out one on ebay, and learn to play. I'm still learning the different mechanics of it, but I'm coming along nicely. Only problem was that we needed something that would compliment a didgeridoo in sound, since a didg is pretty much a bass instrument. Today my roommate ordered a jew harp, since it sounds sorta like a didg except higher pitch, easier to play, and greater range of notes. You can even play specific songs, so it'll be a perfect counterpart to my didg.
Background out of the way, now I need an instrument that will go well with a ukulele that I can play. I've already tried the didg, and it doesn't work well. I need something not too expensive (under 30 bucks for a decent instrument), and something that is very different from a uke but also sounds well with it. And as you can probably guess, we want something not ordinary. I was thinking a pan flute.
Any ideas?
