Think about it: Why would the maker make it that long and have an option to cut the PVC board to shorten it?!?!?!?! They would just make it shorter and surely they do not want customers taking a saw or razor to the card.

Wow... I have worked in the electronics field for many years and.....wow.....I just don't know what to say to this!! The only way to fix this is...well hopefully you have braces. Attach a wire to your braces then attach that to your computer chassis, face due East with the proper amount of saliva in your mouth - get the card close enough to the slot whilst still holding the card in your left hand and you should be able to get the electrons to magically flow from the board to the slot and you're golden. OR, buy a new card and keep all cutting tools away from it, that will probably work better!!
