Ati hasn't impressed me for quite sometime, this is pretty promising for them. I hope they get back into the game with this as it can only benefit us gamers with lower prices on both sides of the fence.

The HD 4870 seems to tie or beat nvidia's entire lineup in most games, and is about half the price of nvidia's top card (GTX 280). Only downside is that it does apparently run fairly loud and hot.

i had a x1900xt for a time and GOD DAMN it was noisy, my gf wouldnt wake up from the watch clock alarm but would wake up upon computer boot, to give you an idea. mini-lawnmower in a case
I heard GTX 280 is totally failure. XFX is about to quti working with nVidia and one of the primary causes is this videocard.
