ever since I fixed my connection yesterday any demos I recorded have been really visually laggy looking even though it was totally smooth in-game. anyone know why this might be?
thanks in advance for any help.

I get this all the time and have no idea what causes it. I used to think it was my rig struggling to keep up, but after upgrading fully it still occurs... shrug.
I have been wondering this for so long ... there are threads already in the topic.
Demo smoothness has to do with so many things... your rig, your client settings, your internet, the server settings, the server itself, etc....
I even heard it has to do with the HDD rpms... so if you have a faster HDD, the game can record "faster" and more in "real time" and it will be smoother... haven't got to try that one though...
its possible it could be the HDD, I have never seen a laggy demo on my end after recording hundreds of them and I only have 10,000 rpm hard drives in raid 0.

I have pos PC and I never have laggy demos, unless something was going on in game that made me lag hard, but even then the demos are often smoother than the gameplay itself.

Heh, demo's are like specmode, its just positioning being smoothed out on the client side as u play it bak, the question is, why isnt it being smoothed.
I also had this with my old cable connection, but it wasnt allways like that, weird.
