Anyone else trying it?

Tried it... didn't really like it. It is nice that each tab runs in its own process space (IE 8 will also support this). But, I like Firefox and I love No Script as a plugin for blocking unwanted ads and other nasty javascript bits. Further, I use FireBug a lot in my day job. Firefox does not run each tab in its own process space (so if one tab crashes all of Firefox crashes) but their recovery mechanism is so nice that this rarely matters to me. I also don't really care for Chrome from an aesthetic point of view.

I've been using it since it came out and I think it's pretty good.

I like the.......
quick startup time
way you can pull a tab out and it becomes a new window
recently visited site page at start up
download manager
lack of status bar/greater viewing space
individual windows process/memory manager
way windows media player opens in the window you're using
incognito window ;)
orange ring around the item/menu/link you've just clicked

and so on...

Overall I think it's a pretty good browser, I'm still a fan of Firefox and all the plugins that are available for it......but if I wanted to check something(emails) quickly I'd use Chrome

F11 in FF does the same.

I used it a few weeks ago and it kept crashing and not many things worked like it wouldnt save my passwords with it so switched back to FF may give it another go as I bet lots has been fixed since then.

Not the same at all, chrome still tells you all the information the status bar does via little popups that fade in and out. F11 is just full screen...not status info

I didn't even bother to try it. Google has been financing Mozilla for many time, and Mozilla said they would support Chrome. So basicly, it's Firefox renamed and with new skin.

Oh noes... Chrome has more income with Safari than it does Firefox. Firefox is based on the Gecko engine (which Mozilla will stick with) while Chrome is based on WebKit (so is Safari). They also have different Javascript implementations.

Different engine but reworked with same ideas and new skin, then. xD

Heh... I am the technical lead on a team of developers for a small consulting company whose bread and butter these days is web apps. Consequently I spend parts of my day knee deep dealing with the differences between each browser (IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and now Chrome) and worse still the differences between different version of the same browser (IE 6 and IE 7 CSS support are quite different and cause lots of headaches).

In short, I get paid to know this stuff.

At least you get paid for being a geek.

Chrome makes my hard drive go nuts its as though its constantly searching for something.
Keep trying google.
