No G I am not acting surprised. I have seen it happening for several months. It started out pretty subtile but has continued to snowball. I have one clan member who will no longer read these boards and no longer wants to support the DMU because of the kind of posts that have become the norm here in the last few months. Well honestly I dont let the BS around here or anywhere get to me as much as I used to. I have learned to have a filter that lets pretty much most of that through and keep the stuff I feel is important or worthwhile. That way the petty drama that doesnt pertain to me, doesnt effect me. The rest, well can frankly go to hell.

To board members – in case you’re pondering about the “heavy hand” issue – venting is good. Venting should be kept going in here and that is not and never has been a problem. If someone wishes to vent then WE should trust that person to be mature enough to do only that. Venting is not flaming. Flaming is nothing short of a contagious disease in these forums.
Those who are immature will flamme anything and any topic. So no “heavy hand” is in question as I see it. A “mature hand” is how I’d call it.

If i had been the one to start / admin the U (this almost happened, btw), there would be no cafeteria. Off topic sections are almost always pure trash on any forum, and i didnt initially believe this one would be any better, or that it had any true use to the community. WT felt different obviously, and it seemed to go well for awhile, but as time progresses it appears human nature is waging a winning battle to prove me right.

The cafeteria helps greatly in routing traffic to the site which I agree with. Although it apparently requires a spell stronger (and in cases, sooner) policing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you are damned if you do and you are damned if you don't.

If I start tightening up, one section of the community starts crying about egotistical mods deleting everything they post. If I let things go too much, another section starts pming me telling me the site is going downhill.

My philosophy is this: give everyone a long rope. The undesirable elements typically hang themselves pretty quickly. There will always be people in the community that rub you the wrong way, but it is the stirrers I am looking to get rid of, not the people that contribute 95% of the time, and then mess up the other 5% of the time.

Also, much like your tv has an off button, everyone is free to stop reading any thread at any given time.

ok so truthfully i started all this because i know most of you have a problem with slick and i knew it would get a lot yall stirred up, which obviously it did, i got many luls from this and i did this purely as entertainment for myself, yall have obviously been offended in some way, i dont aplogize. some of yall had made long posts in response in an almost diplomatic manner, congratulations. anywho im done with my 2 or 3 weeks of being a douche in the community, it twas fun. oh and zman you said you werent going to read any more of the topics i made, which you did not uphold to.
