Do you switch resolutions when starting HL2DM?

I usually have 1600 x 1200, if i let hl2dm resize the resolution to the default(only setting that runs smooth) i tend to crash a lot more.

if i re-size to the same resolution (1024x768) i run hl2dm in and shut down computer, turn it back on, i don't crash.

Anyone else care to test this as well?

reply if the above did not make sense.

how often do you crash? I personally have no problems I run my desktop at a separate resolution and I use 2-3 game resolutions. But then again I do crash sometimes in this game.

when not switching resolutions, i run stable for hours, even days at clip.

but when i work from home, i need to resize to a large res to look at several window's at once, a feat rendered impossible at default resolution.

so on my "breaks" from work i load up hl2dm and within minutes i go right to .datacache.dll looping sound effect crash.
