anyone here do this successfully?

how different is it from running on a PC?

my next rig is probably going to have to be a Mac, I'm studying film production and basically, that's Mac World right there - Final Cut Pro is the industry standard, as much as I wish Premiere or Vegas was, that's how it is I guess.

Can't you just run Windows in Bootcamp?

I did.

It's quite easy, tho.

You just need to download WINE or other emulator of your choice. To the best of my recallation, Steam was in the default list of programs to install, so you only have to click on it.

SteamFriends also works with it. But not SteamCommunity nor Steam Store since it is based on MS Internet Explorer and I guess you don't got it in that Mac.

Best of lucks, lemme know if something goes wrong.

playing on a mac emm well what do you play on now can't you have both or not enuff room for it.

But i have seen some guys that have done it on a mac but they did not play very well.

What I would do just get a mac laptop and then get a cheapy rig with xp with a 22" TFT monitor then when I am home and need to do editing just hook up the mac to the monitor because you need that space. Then overtime slowly upgrade the pc when more money comes your way. But i know its not a perfect world so this may not suit you.

"to the best of my recallation"?
wtf is that >.<

Anyway, I think this site has lots of important info and tutorials on the forums that have never been stickied and so, are kinda lost.
Can't someone sticky all that info, or dunno, make a little article/tutorial and leave it on the main U site? That would be cool...
