Headset problem plz help

Hi guys i just got a razzer baracuda and for some reason the mic does not work. b4 you guys say it is the headset/mic's fault it is not. about 8 months ago i got some cheap panasonic headset with the same 2 pins as the baracuda, 1 green and 1 pink and it didnt work. so i returned it for a usb headset which i still use till this day. the baracuda mic transmits all the shit i hear through my headphones through my mic, which is the same bs that happned with my old green/pink pin headset. I tried both mics at my freinds house and it worked fine. so is there something wrong with my computer? plz help D: im not even guna bother for spelling mistakes lol im tired as fuck.

your mic may be muted in the control panel, check to see if it is or not.
Go to control panel, select sounds and audio devices, on the first tab under device volume hit the advanced tab, and look for the microphone box to see if the mute option is checked, if it is uncheck it and retest. If you dont see a microphone box on the upper left corner select options and check show advanced.

I tried one of those Razer headsets once, it didnt work either. They arent worth it IMO. Apparently they dont work very well unless you also have the sound card for them. I returned them and I got a much better headphones from Audiotechica and a cheap USB mic for less money.

Are you hearing yourself through the mic?

The mic checkbox should be checked(muted) and the vol set to max, it doesn't mute the mic it's self, just stops you from hearing your own voice.

lol yeah taz everythign works great but the mic i dont understand how to check if it is mute r not?

ya its not mute i figured it out, its fucking dumb like i people hear my mic and everything that i hear in my headphones sounds like my speakers are on but they are not, like i said b4 works fine on my freinds computer. over all i love the headset but the mic is pissen me off. should i buy a new sound card?

It could be a setting in your sound drivers.
Also check on Teamspeak that the input and outputs are the same device.

Or maybe after fiddling about.
Go to the windows sound panel select "options>>properties>>click recording
You should see a window like this

Now check the "what you hear" box click OK.

After clicking OK Should see something like this

Now check the MICROPHONE select box it should uncheck "what you hear" automatically.
When done return to "playback"

Easy way to test is use Tamspeak connect to an empty server and start playing some tunes if the green light doesn't come on then it is problem solved.
