Need a tool for AVI to iPod.

I need a FREE tool to convert AVI format into something that an iPod can play.

Super is good tool it can convert into any format without codecs needing to be installed. I just checked and there is an ipod preset.
Its easy to use and does work I often convert movies to PS3 compatible.

C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER\OutPut

You can change it by right clicking and selecting "output file saving management"
