Why get a digital copy if i can't convert to .mp4??

wtf so i get dark knight as a gift for christmass.
inside is a free digital copy key code b/c the disc is DRM protected.

go to cinemagic, the site that hosts for universal the movie studio that distributes the movie, and they want a dollar to download it.

so i'm thinking ok, a paypal dollar.

pft fine i'll buy something i technically already own a copy of.

i have cablevision, supposed to be 15mbs/sec, but it's pullin down at 120kbs/sec, bleh.
so 20 minutes or so later the file i get is drm protected too. i can watch it on winmedia but i can't use my own paid for software (corel/ulead studio 11)to convert the file to mp4 to watch on my psp.

yes i'm one of the few people who actually own a psp. it's actually a pretty good movie player. 4 gig cards can hold a few movies or lots of episodes of 22minute tv shows.

so my question is, what do i have to do, buy yet another copy of the movie from apple itunes store to get a .mp4 file? would you buy a third copy if you were me? or would you try to get crack sw or steal a copy from Utorrent-like sites>??

on a completly random note. i love the onion

I got it also for a christmas gift. I went to the site and I wasn't about to pay more money for a movie I already have. I went to a utorrent like site and downloaded it.

Is it still considered stealing if you already own a physical copy? I've always wondered that.

@keefy
it's a dvd.
i can't rip it, i get teh "this disc is DRM copyright protected" error message when i attempt to import it into corel/ulead11 software.

Wait im confused,
So you got a standard DVD of Dark knight and a free DRM protected digital copy?
or is it just the digital DRM protected version?

If both which did you rip?

Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% are the best Ripping/Image/Backup software out there.
Daemon is also well known to bypass DRM

I think i`m not allowed to post links to the cracked version of these so i`ll simply lead you to their legit counterpart:

I got the dark knight on blu ray and in the box came a second dvd labeled digital copy, that's weird that you would have to download it. Now you got me curious as to if I could take the dvd and put it to my psp, I'll try and let ya know.

@Con, PM's should be ok for those links, and while your at it can I have it too :D

I get it now, I normally use anydvd to get rid of any copy protection from DVD's it removes it on the fly then after that your choice of software should be able to continue, of coure i never paid for anydvd wink.

There's also:

DVDFab HD Decrypter
DVD Shrink
DVD Decrypter
AnyDVD

I have yet to run into a DVD that at least one of these would not rip (with DVDFab being my go to for 98% of the DVDs I get). From there I run the DVD Folder through Handbrake to get a nice mp4 of the movies. And everything but AnyDVD is freeware.

It's not stealing if you make a copy of something. The question is if you are allowed to obtain a copy of what you already own.

These are certainly the only ones needed.
