Known Vac bans

There are a lot of folks who have hacked and bought new accounts. I believe there is a cloud above these folks, not because they are hacking now, but because they hacked, got caught, and WTF, well, there you go, pile them together in a bunch to wonder about!
Who are they, so the DM community will know!?!
VAC bans!!! Who. why...

I have removed the list. Their are some folks i respect who didn't care for it.

The crying and excuses will likely exceed the actual ban list by far.

That said, i think a stickied wall of shame listing confirmed vac bannees is long overdue.

My second account is VAC'd.

Some people claimed it was really easy to hack through an entire CAL season because VAC was stupid slow then all you had to do is tell the world you're account got pwnt, cry and then you'd get a new one.

So i gave it a tried and played a couple of 1v1 with people aware that i was using this on them and (shame on me) i did worst than i usually would without hacks XD

Walling requires training aswell i guess? :O

Took exactly 3~ months before the account goes ban.

account name is/was a_rope

Account was made a long time ago because my cousin wanted to play CSS and i made a_rope with the ATI offer.

C'MON HIT ME!

There could be a whole photo album of him blocking as he seemed to do nothing else in there. I know I killed him a few times in jumpstyle cuz of that.

And for the rest of his actions.... DAMN I hate that guy.

But I dont' get it, that first list is all well known players that don't hack, I suppose. wtf??
If those are hackers with the knowledge of some names, aren't the real players confused with them by ppl? (I dunno how exactly to put this...)

...remove the list so other players can be informed about the people that hacked, but still play on another account. 9 times outta 10, once a hacker, always a hacker. CS/CSS teachs you that rofl, and they pay for it too.

I'm still confused as hell about this...

I tried to search for ppl in the consolrtium, and found only cheaters or ppl without a background.

For example, I've known a girl once that played with the name ataraxia. She was playing with «Ðe|Мōŋ» modern and «Ðe|Мōŋ» Silver when I 1st met them 7 months ago. Now I was looking for that name out of curiosity to get to find her again, and I came across that. There's not one ataraxia that fits my expectations. And to confuse me even more I searched for both «Ðe|Мōŋ» players (currently on 'eS) and I found the same. Cheaters with the same name, players not VACed but with no history on the profile...

WTF??

WTF??
All the players i listed had a long alias list of similiar names and former clans i know they were in.
They have too many kills and too high a regular KPD to be one time aliasing noobs.
I used a process to sift through the lists.
I didnt take it lightly and possible mistakes is one of the reasoins i removed the list.

Skaruts

2009-01-31 05:56:53

Not sure I understand what you mean.

But kpd is dependant on who you fight with mostly. If a good player fights mostly noobs he will have a good ratio. I never managed to get mine above 1.25, but I know a guy, that I'm positivelly sure he doesnt cheat, and never seen his kpd below 3.0.

But taking this guy Silver, I know he used an alias of «Ðe|Мōŋ» X-bow Warrior 7 months ago. I looked for all the 'eS|Silver listed and I found the one with the aliases that were know to me and the one that had them was VAC Banned. Anyway, I don't know him enough to say he cheated or not, but, even though I was 90% noob when I met him, I could tell he was a greatly skilled player that probably wouldn't need to cheat, and that is why I felt like something was very wrong here.

EDIT: May it happen that an account is banned after being stolen? (due to the hacker taking it off limits, for example)

The Argumentalizer

2009-01-31 06:53:59

First off, thats why i removed the list. And good players who play in CAL have pretty good ratios, so i ignored negative ratios.
Also, you say you are pretty sure someone doesn't cheat, but some folks have been caught cheating, just not all the time, otherwise they would keep getting banned.

Skaruts

2009-01-31 09:08:25

well, I can never say I'm 100% sure, but when you play with some1 many times you get a conclusion. Even though you may not know that player too well.

But you're right. I examined some ratios and one of the VACed accounts was 5.something. Waay too much considering the rest of the elements: 574 kills only (and against 100 deaths), Two aliases from two distinct Raw players, etc.

They should be banned by their IP instead of weakly through steam account.

Ziah

2009-01-31 17:31:18

Yeah, apparently, Steam detects you hacking the instant you start but they don't ban you yet. They wait for a random amount of time- could be 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months, then they ban you.

Kind of stupid, if you ask me. They say they don't want you to "see it coming".

Would that actually work?? I was banned by IP from a few places. Now I am not, I assume it had to do with a reformat, or maybe even an upgrade in internet service as well with the same company.

But yeah, it's weak through steam account, making it even worse for this game since it's free.
It's probably safe to assume many people have tried out hacks, but under alias accounts to see if they were detectable or not. :sketchy:

The point being they want you to buy the game again. (wich doesn't apply to hl2dm)

Um no. They do that so you dont know which cheat they caught you with.

Deathwish

I was just asking myself why doesn't it just ban people straight away, but then I realized people would be able to find out which hacks would be detected and which ones would be undetected really easily, especially through a free game like hl2dm.

Exactly.

Key point: it makes it harder for the hack developers to test for detection.

Skaruts

2009-02-10 19:40:27

So does this mean that aimbots and speedbots are detectable and hackers will eventually get banned?

Banning by ip is much weaker than banning by steamid, for most people all they have to do is restart their router/modem and they will get new ip.

Curiously, I just submitted a cheater ID to valve an asked them about that. Maybe if they started getting spammed with requests to end it they would do it.

All of you can send that request, there's nothing more to loose than 10 minutes doing it.

Vac won't ban someone based upon submittal by another player. If that was the case half of us wouldnt be playing anymore and we would all have 10 banned IDs

Skaruts

2009-03-17 00:24:44

yes para, I know. That's why I also submitted demos where you can see it clearly, Steam ID, and consortium profile page which they can use to see that he has 265 kills against 16 deaths in 2 days and in only 1 server, cuz the account was created yesterday. They aren't that stupid. (Or are they?)

My lowest SteamID got banned, I think the PC Cafe computer that I logged the account onto must've had hacks.

I think my brother's used hacks for CS 1.6 on one of my active accounts. This was years ago and none of my accounts are banned, both HL1 and Source games.

I hacked excessively for about a week in the good ol' WON days. Was really fun.

I have never hacked in a Source game.

I'm a cheater.
