I believe Steam chat is interconnected with a bunch of features, like the "Join Game / Invitation to games" and *Friend name* is now playing *Game name* and most of the time when steam chat goes down, new games are added to the list of games you can buy, so i assume it's somewhat related, annoying nonetheless and poor design decision.

Steam is old, its bareley changed for 5 years I have been using it.

• The server browser is horrible I dont knwo what order it is in but it certainly is not alphabetical.

• All games I own show in the server browser regardless of being installed, WHY?

• The entire list of all games I own refreshes when I quti a game WHY?

• The colums don't stay as I leave them when I restart steam.

That is just for the server browser, there are many other things wrong with steam.

steam friends goes down way too many times. usually when im in the middle of a conversation. the matchmaking system of l4d is also tied to steam friends so it breaks the game when it goes down. cool.

It's due to the TF2 update, server overload.

Bummer, I too have noticed a strange amount of "outages". What the fuke are they doing?

I can't even play that now, literally.

Yeah, it did the same thing to me yesterday Seagull. Was the only one online and everyone else was offline lol, and it did it multiple times too.

I have been unable to conenct to Steam itself for a couple of hours now.

On a side note Quake 2 got updated this week.

This. I can handle losing conversations but not being able to access group servers or create lobbies in Left 4 Dead drives me NUTS.

It goes down when they are fixing or updating something. And it is connected with all your stats and achievements, groups and friends. That's why they have a friends limit, it used to be 150 but nowadays is 250 because some of the users complained about it.
