Tuna are very bloody fish. The only pic I could find is one where I am just starting to dress them, so its not real bloody yet. Trust me though, once you wear a particular shirt for cleaning tuna fish, it becomes the dedicated fish cleaning shirt for that season. You never get the blood out of it.

fishsticks anyone?

i know how u feel para i worked on a seafood counter in oz for 2 years i think ive filleted and cleaned more fish than days ive been alive. cleaning out the guts bin was the worst. the worst part was noticing the smell on my clothes once i left. i think every shirt i had was soaked in blood. good times tho life was easier then.

Yes they were quite tasty on the BBQ.

HAHA...You know I never thought of it that way. I have probably cleaned or dissected more fish than days I have been alive too....lol. I definately have handled/measured more fish than days I have been alive.

You see, not only do I spend a lot of time fishing and cleaning the catch, which I actually enjoy doing because you get to see what they ate, but I also work as a marine fisheries biologist and part of my job is to measure fish and dissect fish.

So the fish smell doesnt bother me so much. I have gotten used to it.

It was more important to get them processed and into the ice as fast as possible. Also the guys were more concerned with getting the lines back out so we could catch moar!
