you forgot the option I Don't have a good connection and would like a fucking disk of itholymoly wrote:Gentlemen, about a year ago I put together a high resolution pack that combined the best elements from various weapon packs, skins, sprites, props, and effects. I spent part of this week updating some textures and I will make them available if you all would like. The uploading process will take some time, so I would prefer to know that you want them before I spend a few hours doing that.
The elements that I have updated are
1. I've removed the 357 hi-res world model due to a graphical glitch.
2. I've updated the shotgun hi-res view and world model with better-looking and more Valve-standard models.
3. I've removed the crossbow view and world model because the previous models deviated too far, in my opinion, from the original. The standard crossbow's visual look is already immaculate, in my opinion.
4. I've updated the combine rifle with a hi-res version.
5. Combine balls now glow blue, giving them a beautiful halo effect that you will see when they bounce. It looks very cool.
6. I've updated the grenade with a more realistic view and world model. The grenade looks much nicer than the previous model.
7. The USP now actually ejects shells.
8. Shells are hi-res now.
9. The SMG's reload sound effect is now hi-fidelity.
10. Ammo boxes are all now hi-res.
11. Health kits are now hi-res.
12. I've replaced the pack's original crate model with one that looks better. Also, I've experienced graphical glitches with my pack's previous crate model - the shadow of the crate on the ground would remain even after the crate was destroyed.
13. I've updated the gravity gun with hi-res textures.
14. I've updated hand models with hi-res textures that stay with the Valve original unlike than the rebel_hands model I had included previously.
Please note that I myself did not skin or re-skin any elements in this pack, I merely assembled it from over 30 different creators for the benefit of the hl2dm community.
Note - the hi-res pack requires a fast processor, 2gb of RAM, and a decent video card. It does NOT adversely impact your fps in game. It just takes about 2 seconds longer to load any given map.
