Different amounts of current can do different things. Some hold and shake you, some pop and throw you, some fry you instantly.

It isn't normal 120 or 240v AC. If it is AC then were talking many thousands of volts. If its DC it will be a lower voltage but higher current.

well, there was so much voltage running thru that line he didnt actually touch the line, didnt need to. it arched to him. had he actually grabbed it he would have been totally fried and his muscles would have contracted and gripped the wire until his hand melted off.

the power in that wire has nothing to do with DC current. ac/dc is a reference to how the current flows. power lines are AC current.

AC power lines are stepped up to 10KV 33KV maybe more this is done because the current is much lower. And with the lower current means smaller cables can be used which in turn saves money.
DC is old and massive motors were needed with massive currents to drive them.
In some parts of India DC is still used however it is changing fast and probbaly in the minority.
