I am in the market for a newer PC game. I got a $50 dollar gift card at Best Buy, so throw your suggestions at me.

The games that I already have are as follows.
All the GTA's
TF2
CSS
Fallout 3
Audiosurf
L4D

what type of game are you looking for?

If you are looking for FPS MP.

DL the section 8 beta from fileplanet, see if you like it.
Crysis Wars is cool if your machine can run it.
the Red Orchestra and all its mods are pretty cool, but a bit slow.
Modern Warfare 2 comes out soon. Thats gonna be kick ass

Well BI since you're looking for a newer pc game, be careful. I've found (from piracy) that many new games today for pc are sssshhhiiitttt ports from 360. I dl'd prototype & dead space and they are great examples of this phenomenon. Bionic commando also seems to be the same.

I recently got Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, it's pretty fun, and it's not casual like most games today; it actually challenges you a bit. Crysis is also good enough if you've never played that, and assuming you can run it D:

Older games are never a bad idea either (ever play+beat hl1?)

Edit: In all seriousness, I've gotten into the habit of very rarely buying brand new games. I wait for a while on the gaming community's consensus and then buy a game months later when the price drops. Take the money and buy a few older games that have proven themselves. You get more games for your money and don't end wasting it on over-hyped turds.

i bought prototype for the PC and it's badass, i even play it with my 360 controller

i would suggest to get prototype b/c its fast paced badass slaughtering

then get crysis wars/warhead if you want MP. but, if you are going to buy a SP game. BUY DEAD SPACE. its 3rd person, but when you play it you will understand why they made it TPS. most amazing SP game i have ever played. but, if i had $50 to spend on any game. i would buy crysis wars/warhead

For fity, you could get BIG bang for buck with Far Cry and COD and its expansion or COD2.

Prototype on pc blows asshole because of the targeting system. WHY would I ever want my mouse sensitivity SLOWED DOWN to .1 when I want to target something??? And switching powers on the pc version with that wheel is god awful too. Switching anything on the pc in that is god awful.

And yea I'm sure i'd have more fun if i had a wired 36t controller, but i dont have one. Would rather stick my dick in a piranha's mouth than buy a wired 360 controller too

you can bind keys to different equipment that is on the wheel. but i do agree that the game is aimed at console controllers. still a bad ass game tho.

Not FPS, but I just bought that indie pack Steam is advertising and it's got a ton of good shit in it. Braid, Audiosurf, World of Goo, Crayon Physics, etc. Pretty fly.

Also I'm playing The Witcher and I LOVE it. I played all the old school D&D games (Baldur's Gates, Icewind Dales, Neverwinter Nights) and it uses the same engine as NWN2 but the combot is a TON better. There are skill chains that you have to time just right and the skill tree system is more like Age of Empires 2 if that makes any sense. Also, I'm level ten and I've already had sex with 4 different chicks. It's a mature RPG and it plays different than any other RPG I've played. There's a lot more to it. I'm high and I recommend it (highly recommended.)

There is actually a Diablo 2 patch coming in the next few days that will reset the ladder and make it fun again for a bit. Also, there is a snej mod for it that makes things a bit more interesting in the meantime. Also, who all here is gonna be playing D3? I know I sure am!!

So I don’t know if that was true in the first place or where that stands now.

One request I get a lot is having commentary tracks back on the original Half-Life. So, we’d like to do it. It’d be a tough call, getting a new monster or new special infected out for Left 4 Dead 1 versus getting the engine updates out for the original Half-Life 2. You know we can look at that and see right now that a lot more people are playing Left 4 Dead than are playing Half-Life 2 and we know that if we actually did the updates a lot more people would play Half-Life 2 so it’s just a balancing act. But it is something we said we’re going do and we’ll get around to doing it. It’s just managing all of the things that people would like us to do, all of which we want to do.
