Cannot browse servers for HL2DM or CS:S, not too bothered about the latter.
Steam also thinks CS:S and HL2DM are not installed.
Any ideas?

1) Close steam

2) delete ClientRegistry.blob

3) Go take a long ass walk

come back, launch steam. If it fails, repeat step 3 until your problem fixes itself, most likely that's what happens

Was a random map using create server. :shhh:

It was a corrupted hl2mp_english.txt file.

It's using Windows, which is a US OS.

It's using Windows, which is a US OS.
Windows is well known at not being very good to stop viruses. Wich is why it cannot self-terminate.

Why is the directory- c:"for steam" and the exe is steam.exe?

That is screwy.

Should be c:Steam/Steam or c:Steam/steam.dll

Shouldn't it?
Dont have your AV on when playing. That is a nogo.
I don't get the hatred aimed at Steam?!?
Its down rarely, a little sluggish sometimes.
But, for what it does, its pretty good, like ITunes.

ITunes is trash if you don't know how to use the shit.
I have tried all of them and for my huge library, Itunes is very nice.

But then, i like a stable library with all the artwork.
