I love how the car is designed around "it's going to hit people so we gotta do something!"

More like "about million people died or were seriously injured last year due to being hit by a car, we should try and come up with a solution to reduce the number of these injuries and deaths"

Yeah well I don't know if you were aware but for a long time ago, cars have a much lower front now, so in case of a hitting of a person, you hit his legs instead of his upper level. So not only the Japanese have been thinking this way, but the rest of the world.

well my point was, its not the material of the car's outer frame that kills ppl, its the mass + velocity(momentum). kinda like that video of that reporter chick getting run over by that huge plastic ball. that ball was prolly soft as shit, but it prolly gave her a concussion, and if it were going a lot faster, like a car, prolly would have done a lot more damage. the only thing i can thing of that would make that design worth while is if it were made to prevent shrapnel injuries, but i dont think that is a huge concern.
