Yes but I'm not sure if it is released to the market yet, I think they are still testing it . Anyway, it introduces DX11 to Windows 7 (probably an strategy from Microsoft to move gamers from Vista to 7).

Sounds like dx11 will not be exclusive to win7.

they already have the sdk/runtime librarys in the works for win7 and vista for developers...
speculation that it may be delievered with sp2 for vista, and as stand alone update as well.

Give nvidia a few months and they will have a card to out perform ATI's card. It happens every time. Its a game of cat and mouse...

Might be a bit longer, Nvidias last batch of test chips didn't return so well. 2% of all of the batch were stable and usable.

DX11 iirc will also be compatable on Vista and XP (I believe), but I dont think it will be quite the same as on Win 7.

wow haha

Death Angel is just saying that's how things work. In any sucessful market you need competition. Nvidia needs ATI and vice versa. If one would really want to dominate the other they would do whatever is in their power to do so. Nvidia release a card at 300$, so will ati, slightly better. then nvidia will release an insane card at 500 $, ati too, but then it wont be as good, but afterward they'll comeback with something that seems unbeatable and the wheel goes on.

It's marketing. Nothing else.

sources or just another 'hear say' opinon?

xp never dx10 --- lets just jump to dx 11 instead.....lol?

@ W.T. - yes, the gtx 280 is a very stable card, rarely does my fps drop ( all games are maxed with this card, of course) and when it does it seems to be rather nominal - a range of 5-15. Also runs at a nice cool temp with a very well built fan w/ minimal noise even when cranked above 50% rpm
