lolz...getting flashbacks of my intense atmospheric sciences 106 course. Dont get me started on upper atmospheric air charts, infrared thermal images, air pressure readings ect ect...Also lmao at cellar and impala, true republicans to say the least.Ghost Dog_TSGK wrote:http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/full_loop.php

Naw lol...I'm not familiar with CONUS as we studied more precise, regional/area specific charts and radars but the CONUS is a mosaic RADAR compromised of all of NOAA's dopplar radar networks together. That being that, it means rural areas not covered by NOAA's networks (because they are rural, not worth the money/importance to cover) are essentially cut from the image of the CONUS, explaining the circular patches of dense clouds and light rain. Dopplar is heavily precipitation orientated so where you see rain wheres there is not would be because of a term called virga, which is where there is thick clouds with alot of moisture but the precipitation evaporates in the upper air, even miles before it hits the ground. That was an unscientific explanation but thats my best guess.Ghost Dog_TSGK wrote:Well maybe you know why it shows giant circular patches of blue and green when there isn't precipitation in that area?
