If there are any morel hunters out there - I found 3 small black morels under an 1nch big today in Midland County, MI.

So heads up. it's time.

If anyone local to said county or state is interested hit me up.
I have a 4x4 truck and spare onion sacks - I have green trees and I have a lot of fun - Morel Hunting for the win.

I'm a morel mushroom hunter, I usually don't go out until early/mid May. I'm in MN, good to know they are starting to come out!

I would sell, and keep a handful for the kitchen.

Funny in this day and age there is still a highly lucrative herb business, these morels have cost as much as truffles and take saffron for example, saffron is still $115 per ounce.

Some things cannot be industrialized (but if you research saffron you'll see why it's hard to get).

I coat mine with flour and pan fry in butter, combine that with a t-bone or ribeye off the grill and you have one helluva great meal!!

I generally pass on anything that grows on cow shit, aka psychedelic mushrooms. I am a big fan of morel mushrooms though. Will hopefully get a bag full of black and greys tomorrow

for me, i had some awesome times with them and a few very bad times. one time i ended up in the woods listening to the leaves and grass talk(which was just the wind blowing thru them) while a quivered in fear of this tree, it had a section of bark missing that looked like a wide open mouth. i prolly sat there for hours to scared to move.

I mainly hunt for King Boletes and chanterelles.
I'm a sucker for boletes.
I've never found those darn morels

(and psilocybes haha. Mainly p.Semilanceatas. A handful of them does the trick)

the psylocybins (sic) are the only ones i've ever actually hunted for. but once you find out they grow on shit, you can get a little skeeved out and get teh hurls if you try to munch them raw. i take them in the tea. easier to guage that way. havn't had them en years here. good luck on yer quests yeunglings.
