It is true, Video gaming is the only hobby that requires the players to not progress their skills as the games have evolved instead the games are dumbed down so new players don't struggle so much.

Yes, that's what I was referring to, and the fact that it is no longer a sport is exactly my point. Once upon a time the fights and participants were real (late 1800s). That was until some of the promoters realized staging the fights and creating drama was more profitable, and pro wrestling was born.

Just offering it as a real world example of what can happen to a sport when it is dumbed down and diluted.
