Shutter Island was a pretty good WTF movie.
Others, for me, would have to be Cube, Buffalo '66, The Cry of the Owl, Dead Man's Shoes, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Evil Dead,
The Killing Room, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, Trainspotting, and Waltz With Bashir.

The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans was such a shit movie, but it had the most memorable WTF moments. Iguana scene and His Soul is Still Dancing.
Stick with the 2nd scene, it gets good @ 1 minute in.

Trainspotting had an awesome soundtrack.
Lou Reed - Perfect Day
Iggy Pop - Night Clubbing
Underworld - Born Slippy

based on your recomendation Rico, i watched Primer last night. 9/10. great fucking film. wish they had more money to make it longer. im prolly gonna watch it again tonight. wasnt super confusing but i would like to see it again. as far as mind fuck movies go, this is a 1 on a scale of 1-10 compared to Inland Empire
do not read on if you want to see the movie. what i have written below contains spoiler info.

one part i thought was kind of strange(possibly i heard the conversation wrong). when they are talking in park in front of the building, when Aaron is sitting on the bench and he tells Abe he is wearing the ear piece because he is listening to March madness. Abe believes him and we later find out that he was using the ear piece to record/listen to conversations that happened in previous trips. what i find strange is that Abe is obviously curious and concerned as to what Aaron is listening to, but happily accepts "March Madness" (basketball tourny) as the answer, when in fact the film takes place in early September.

I don't remember when it started, but if it was September, it took months before they got to the point where they found out what it was capable of. Listen for "weeks turned into months" around the time they 1st get the machine running.

yes, but thats only months to abe and aaron, to everybody else it was only one week!!!

edit: actually now that i think about it, because of the distortion of the space-time continuem they were experiencing(which is why i think why couldnt write correctly, or maybe they could but they couldnt see it correctly)their brains were both fried. maybe aaron assumed he could have told abe he was listening to the muppet show and he would have believed him. but all that is prolly true the second time they met there. the first time they met there they were both "fresh" and abe shouldnt have believed that. BUT, then again, abe was prolly so excited about what he had discovered he couldnt care less about what aaron was listening to.....oh well.

What I'm saying is that the film may have started in September, but before they discovered what the machine could do months had past. Watch the part right after they discover that the machine does "something", but they're not sure what yet. There's a montage of discussions where they try to decide what to do with and how to make money without getting screwed because they didn't fully understand it. Months go by, into March, thats when Abe discovers exactly what the machine is doing. Then the rest of the movie takes place in March during those few days where they jump around.

Goldang Brazil is good. When DeNiro goes over the balcony on his line is hilarious.

There are two endings.
The Studio wanted a happy, they escape drive off to happy land...completely STUPID and out of sort.
Gilliam protested and got the real ending.
He then had both on DVD.

Brazil is so imaginative and telling of our current times. i would say its prophetic.

'But the terrorist campaign has been 50 years now!"

"Beginners Luck!"

If you like Gore and splatter, try The Rage.
Cubes are interesting but the endings are highly unsatisfactory.

Hilarious vindication for Asian men, 27 October 2006

Author: sfgators from United States

This indie film has to be one of my all time favorites! For all you Asian males who've wondered where are the Asian males in porn, this movie is the answer. Thanks to all the former and current female porn stars who participated in this film. Dick Ho is well written, funny, edgy and empowering! I'm especially glad to see Mika Tan, a famous Asian female porn star offer her talent to this movie. Viewers should be ready to laugh hard! This film is more like a faux documentary about a legendary Asian male porn star. I only wish it was true! I hope that this film is available on DVD! If you're looking for porn, look elsewhere. If you're ready to laugh, this is a great movie to watch, a collector's item. I hope that the writer/director of this movie will continue to write films that empower Asian males!
