yeah if it isn't car induced its wildfire enforced i used to live about 100 mi. away from Mt. Lassen only twice was it ever truly clear in 12 years mostly it had only a slight haze no where nearly as bad as SoCal but when fires where raging it got pretty close now i live in the sierra nevada foothills the air clarity is much better.

lol well both those locations are pretty remote. The first Pic is of Mt. Katahdin in Northern Maine's Baxter State Park. The only roads in are dirt roads and there is little if any electical power within miles unless its from a self contained generator. The other 2 pics, (Im sure some of you recognize) are the Grand Tetons, in Wyoming, also pretty remote.

However, yeah we arent exactly doing our air quailty very much good these days unfortunately.

Interesting stat: a greater percentage (forget the actual number) of kids now have asthma then they did 25+ years ago. I ran a summer camp here for a couple of years and it amazed me how many of them had those inhailers. I cant remeber hardly anyone having them when I was a kid, you know back when the dinosaurs were around.
