Yeah post em up, dont be shy. Thx 2 blas for the inspiration

I'll start with John Stuart Mill, father of modern western political thought and had one of the highest IQ's ever recorded.

"If all mankind minus one were of one opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind."

"A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

"Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative."

And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Not seen and heard, no one knows
You forget, niggaz be quiet as kept
Now you know nothin; before you knew a whole fuckin lot
Your ass don't wanna get shot!
A lot of MC's came to my showdown
To watch me put your fuckin ass lo-o-ow down
As you can go, below zero
Without a doubt I've never been tooken out
By a nigga, who couldn't figure
Yo by a nigga, who couldn't figure
Yo by a nigga, who couldn't figure (Brooklyn Zoo)
How to pull a fuckin gun trigger
I said, "Get the fuck outta here!"
Nigga wanna get too close, to the utmost
But I got stacks that'll attack any wack host
Introducin, yo FUCK that nigga's name!
My hip-hop drops on your head like ra-a-ain
And when it rains it pours, cause my rhymes hardcore
That's why I give you more of the raw
Talent that I got will riz-ock the spot

Whoa-hoa-hoa! Let me like slow up with the flow
If I move too quick, oh, you just won't know

LOL why don't you actually read all of John Stuart Mill's "On Liberty", then go read the entireity of Marx's Communist Manifesto like I've had to as a political science major. Basically what you just did there is call a cat a dog, but actually worse.

EDIT; A quote from my personal hero D.H. Lawrence, the Nutri-Grain of poetry

Well, i would agree with much of Liberty, Mills goes on his ridiculous Utilitarism based on HAPPINESS and what works. And his treaty on Liberty does not arise out of Natural rights but utility.

Such is the same idea in Marx. Mills is a favorite of Liberals and Marx is a favorite of Progressives for the same reason.
They are both based in altruism and social engineering.

In fact, Mills completely contradicts On Liberty later on.
I figured you mentioned Mills because you took political science. It shows.
It's the only reason you would mention him, embarrassing as he is as a philosopher.
Especially going on about him like anybody but Leftists still pay attention to him.
And as for your statement that Mills is the Father of Western Political Thought, that is complete bullshit.
He is the Father of Leftist Taffyheads.
Only university Bubbleheads laud Mills.
It seems i read all that stuff decades ago and rejected it all as the nonsense it is without benefit of a Professor.
Don't assume that i have not read it all, including Rousseau, Marx, Hegel, Smith, Locke.

Yeah actually Mill was denounced as a radical for going against the king during his era when his first works came out. Also Mill is a favorite of the libertarians in contemporary politics, not liberals.

LOL relevance of this quote just skyrocketed by coincidence today. I was just watching an older episode of Frontline where the former slush fund manager of Siemens corp said there's an 11th comandment pertaining to the business world of bribing politicians and lawmen, "Don't get caught".

Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.

DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

That’s all."
That is hilarious. Especially the part about the finest food - priceless! Gotta <3 American bullshit art. If anything encapsulates american rhetoric (to me anyway) it's Jack Nicholson's Court speech in A Few Good Men as the borderline Col. Jessep. What a spin.
But you gotta hand it to them - THIS is how you get out of trouble. When Jews are in trouble they don't say a thing, leaving you to guesses, further deepening the pit they're in, while Americans just storm into these glorious omnipotent speeches where truth and false, right and wrong dissolve and morph into a sales pitch.
and everyone buys

We all know that isn't Patton's real speech but the real speech that inspires it is not much different. Patton believed every word of it and consequently spurred on tens of thousands. They believed it and believed in him. Had the politicians running the war just followed his lead, the war would have ended almost 6 months earlier, saving thousands of lives.
Patton lived in his own mythology but delivered.

Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration,
that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death,
life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
Here's Tom with the Weather.

YOu know what I just realized after watching this? --->
Link One comedian and one TV show called Family Guy ripped off this guys jokes in this one clip alone, and after watching another clip about him on dinosaurs I realized Lewis Black ripped that off without even attempting to cover it up.

RIP, I guess people will come to the trough of geniuses and feed away like pigs.
