I just wanted to start a thread about logitech and how the peripherals made by them are so much better than free razer junk. I am the ultimate logitech fanboi and if i had my way they would be giving away free peripherals to all the guys and gals that play hl2dm.

please keep this thread clean and free of any comments supporting or praising razer products and sweepstakes.
oh and this.

On a side note, an exception NEVER proves the rule.
That saying is nonsense.

Yup. Ive used all three (Logitech mx518, Razor Lachesis, Steelseries XAI) and the steelseries is by far the best of the 3. The Mx518 was a real nice mouse too. Lachesis was poopoo. I've heard good things about the G9 and the older Razors though

ether

2010-10-22 07:42:06

I had a Lachesis. One of the side buttons stuck from the get-go. Every time I hit chat I'd see ffffffffffffffffff. It got worse from there.

News for you its all lasers, they cannot handle high velocity as well as older optical mice, they are however improving alot.

Not from steelseries, they made a good laser out of the gate.

I heard the G500 was supposed to have a laser of that caliber but then I hear from users it's not quite true.

I had a Copperhead. I rage tapped that thing with heavy fingers till it disintegrated. It was quick as fuck but too small. I was always accidentally zooming or side button that weird thing. It was a really fine quick thing for the right hand.

My G5 isn't really great. It feels all humpbacked and tall. Bulbous. I like the weights.
It is an underwhelming mo9use overall.

I have a g9 as well, have been happy with it except for the occasional pet hair that gets caught in my laser and makes it so I can't look up and down lol. It has taken a beating too, I've dropped it (accidentally) at least 2 dozen times. My dpi is super low, so I don't care about having super high sensitivity. I favor the custom grips too, I mostly use the dry grip tho. The weights also slow my mouse down for my accuracy too, it's nice. Love the ability to customize different profiles and colors for the led's. and continuous rolling scroll option.

Has anybody tried this or know anyone who uses it?

Here is one of the mice:

I've been curious, it looks awesome but knowing me I would lose a few of the many parts it comes with.

this thread is about logitech and your posts about razer have nothing to do with this thread. i think there already is a razer thread and i think EVERYONE at the U agrees that razer posts dont belong in this thread.

for the records,

Bio-Hazard used to destroy most people way back in this game and he played with the default microsoft mouse that came with the rig he bought at best buy.
Also, he had a piece of paper as a mousepad.

I recently bought a bullshit cheap Dynex keyboard to replace my Razer Lachesis or whatever the stupid name.

It had broken keys all over the place.
My space bar was snapped in 2. Sometimes Jump sometimes not.
I wouldn't call Razer indestructible.

This is a Logitech FANBOY troll thread, so any anti-Razer nonsense should be welcome.

Yea, so far I've been pretty happy with my logitech. Although I'm open to trying other brands, even razer. I have nothing against them. I mean, even Fatality doesn't use a laser mouse, he uses an old school ball mouse that is over clocked. The lasers today arn't fast enough to keep up with his hand moving across the mouse pad so crazily. Whatever works man, as long as it helps you pwn.

The Argumentalizer

2010-10-25 04:37:20

Lasers are just about as fast as the speed of light.

Well, exactly the speed of light.
Pretty damned fast.

Maybe not as quick as a ball thing.

I have a small hand so if I used the smooth grip one it would be awkward, so I use the grip one. The only problem with this is I use my mouse A LOT and dead skin cells seem to build up where I put my fingers. EWW.

Too true that customizable profiles are awesome. I love how they automatically switch modes when you get in a program. Couldn't do mapping so quick without it :).

Two problems I've had with it though: the scroll wheel broke and got stuck in hyper scroll. I had it only for a month and I was distraught. Not thinking about complaining to Logitech and getting another one I Disassembled the mouse and fixed it --> voiding my warranty. Also the braided cord made a huge kink in the wire and I had to cut it before it damaged the connection.
Other than that.. all cool.

I have owned MX518 mice and loved them
Ive owned G5 mice and loved them more
I have a G500 and I love that one too.

So yeah I likey the Logitech mice.

I have a G15 Keyboard on top of my desk, but I only use it for typing. I game with a Ideazon Fang which was bought out by Steel Series.

The spring that holds the thing that makes it click when you scroll had broken in once place and was just jiggling around with no purpose. I took off the broken spring, got a pair of pliers and a soldering iron and bent the spring so it fit back onto the place it should.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PULLING OFF THE SLICK PADS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUSE TO UNSCREW IT APART WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. That's if you have one :)

Pretty shoddy job they did cause it hasn't done anything wrong since then.
