Im not the biggest Funeral/Noise/Doom fan, as you can see from the list, but i'll check it out.
I have heard them before and it was huge sounding but didn't grab me.

Fear Factory - Mechanize

Morbid Angel is currently in the studio recording a new album but this time with drummer Tim Yeung (Divine Heresy). Pete Sandoval has had some major back problems for a long time and finally had the surgery to repair the years of abuse. Unfortunately he won't be able to get behind a drum kit for several months. Tim is a great drummer and you should check out Divine Heresy to see what he's capable of.

Jay Jizzle - Marijuana Inc 2

They played it out real soft through the first couple of songs, but then they go fucking hard on the rest of the albums. One of the best metal albums I've heard in a long fucking time.

Fear Factory still touring?

Yes I'm pretty sure they are, their latest album (Mechanize) was released back in July and now I believe they are on tour.

They also have Dino Casares back and Gene Hoglan on drums. Fucking Gene Hoglan!

The new album is their best since Obsolete.

Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini was awesome!!

One of the few good remaining metal bands in this country

The Argumentalizer

2011-01-04 04:25:22

Lol, Disturbed. It's a metal list, not Top of the Pops.

I haven't even heard the Iron Maiden album.
It gets good reviews.

Hell Yeah, Enslaved is one great band.
If folks want their minds blown, they should check out Negura Bunget from Romania and start with OM!
The Immolation album was just unbeatable this year. It has everything and a beastly slab of Death Metal.
For folks who like Old School Swedish Death Metal, check out the Wakedead Gathering, Grave, and Interment.

I ran into this video a few days ago (sorry, it's old - 2008) but was pretty impressed with it.

Arsis - We Are The Nightmare:

ARSIS is very good, and based right out of Virginia Beach here.

Good group.
If you like that, try Unleashed, from Sweden.

Good call on Necrophagist! I have their album Epitaph. Here's a video clip of a few of their songs with just the drummer (sorry, I'm a drummer of 23 years who likes this type of drumming). Romain Goulon is another great drummer!!

I really like that Grindcore/Death mix - Brutal Hate. Very cool.

The Necrophagist is too wheedley and the production to shiny for me.
The playing is awesome, don't get me wrong. It's just missing some depth and attitude.

Romain has awesome hand speed. I don't know how he grips the stick all the way down there like Bill Bruford!
