eFPS Half Life 2 Information and Start Date Announcements

everythingFPS is pleased to announce that we have a working mod and that we are ready for our first tournament to be hosted! The first tournament will be a single elimination 16-32 team tournament (depending on team sign up amount) ran in Adrenaline Gamer 2 Mod which fixes many issues that plain Half Life 2: Deathmatch has. everythingFPS is changing the way HL2:DM Competitive play is ran in the NA a bit...no don't worry we wont turn friendly fire on but check out the rule updates and important links and dates below.

Rule Changes:
1. Timelimit will be changed from 20 minutes to only 15 minutes.
2. Pause is an option in the event of a player crash.
3. Due to the mod settings sv_pure 1 with a whitelist will be used rather than sv_pure 2.

Important Dates:
July 24th, 2011 @ 11:59 PM PST - Sign Ups close.
July 25th, 2011 @ 12:00 AM PST - Brackets are released.
August 1st, 2011 @ 12:00 AM POST - Round 1 Matches must be completed.
Note: Any incomplete matches after the 1st will be an auto forfeit for both teams and a BYE will be set for the advancing opposing team.

Maps:
Depending on team Sign ups the tournament will be an 8, 16, or 32 team bracket. With this we will need an additional map every time the bracket raises in size because the tournament will be extended a week.

If 8 Team Bracket:
Week 1: dm_lostvillage_r1
Week 2: dm_caverns_r1
Week 3: dm_lockdown_r6

If 16 Team Bracket:
Week 1: dm_lostvillage_r1
Week 2: dm_caverns_r1
Week 3: dm_airfusion_prefinal
Week 4: dm_lockdown_r6

If 32 Team Bracket:
Week 1: dm_lostvillage_r1
Week 2: dm_caverns_r1
Week 3: dm_airfusion_prefinal
Week 4: dm_avalon_b1
Week 5: dm_lockdown_r6

Only 2 complaints:

1) Single round elimination - If an only okay team is unlucky and gets paired against a really good team, their first Tournament of eFPS is done within 30 minutes.
2) Lockdown is the finals map - just plain stupid.

Other than that, good job and such.

Both LD and bio need major layout changes, since they are both ports of environments from other games that differ greatly from hl2dm.
For the morons who don't fucking know, LD is from hl2. As in, the single player - Yah - which is a very different game; play it right fucking now and tell me if it has a bhop, morons.
---> Bio is a port of some CPMA map, if I am not mistaken, for all of sw0t's work (save lostarena) in hl2dm is a port of some kind.
Both of the aforementioned shitty environments also have way too many gay fucking props. This isn't 2004. We see the physics, and they are broken.
Grainbilly also already beat a talented team like lukecon on Bio, and we all know how prop-gay Luke is.

I know this was discussed in another thread but I'm not sure what became of it. Will these events be filmed/recorded so we can see all the action? Narration was another possibility?

Just curious, it's nice to see the community somewhat coming back together and breathing life back into the game, would be nice to see it in action!
