Loving it, especially aesthetically.

Some quick feedback:
Gimme toggle_zoom, and an option for a "united zoom" key. In my case I would make that "pgup," since that is what the top button of my mx518 is bound as.
---> The rest of the eFPS player base is used to only having one zoom key to deal with, for that is why I mention it.
Gimme physcannon = [bind "g" "use weapon_physcannon"] ; with the ggun as a weapon it allows for proper re-catching or "yoyo-ing" of physical objects.
--> phys_swap is not as fast and I think I saw an animation delay; however, I was still able to "fast-gather" so I may be wrong. Felt sluggish is all.
-----> Valve left the switching animations for all other weapons except the ggun, since it was used so much in the environments of the time (prop spam.)
-----> HL2dm weapons switch silently but have said animations for balance. If only the Valve team balanced the actual weapons, ugh.
Gimme moar crosshairs, please?

I'll have more info when I try running some dm_ maps on the mod.
Please cater to the competitive community. Overall, good mod is good.

EDIT2: the default "doublebind" from other hl2dm games was preventing this. nvm.
i.e: bind "c" "use weapon_crowbar;use weapon_stunstick"

I may be a moron and overlooked it somewhere, but a damage/load-out chart like what WT made on the steam forums for HL2DM would be great.

Already mentioned it, but the not being able to yoyo is making me rage.
I do it the legit way to, as most do, "use weapon_physcannon" - mouse1(toss) - "use weapon_pistol" (or weapon one spawns with/always has) - "use weapon_physcannon" - mouse2(caught).
All within a second.

Please let me do it in this mod; it is how I get my rocks off.


EDIT: I saw now in the readme that there is a "use weapon_physcannon" possibility, and I bound that to g. But for the life of me, it will not let me yoyo.
There is a delay in the last step of the "re-catching" or the use of mouse2 with the ggun. It is very odd.

I noticed some bugs:

If your typing a message, it's invisible until you post it.
Also if your name has special characters in it and you type "LOL" for example, it shows all these chinese characters.

Then dont use special characters in your name ;p. Im pretty sure though that you can. If you are still having issues with your chat, try typing hud_reloadscheme in the console.



Newguy, You arent getting any of the stuff you are asking for. The reason is, we tried to get all of that, but the engine the mod is on is older then dirt and they are not available. The engine version we are on doesnt even have toggle_zoom in it lol. The mod has build in match mode so its catered towards the competitive community just as much as the pubbing community :). Please remember that its not a dm wannabe. Sure it has many similar things, but we arent looking to be called a hl2dm clone with flags.

The damage is quite a bit different because we went with a different approach and I think it works really well. Here is how its set up.

Headshot x2 dmg
Chest and Back x1 dmg
Arms and Legs x.5 dmg

So, wanna kill faster? Shoot the one in the middle :)

As aforementioned, headshots: 2x, torso: 1x, leg/arm: .5x (I believe they round down, so 11 dmg torso would be 5 on leg/arm)

I am writing the official "how2playctf" guide. Sorry it's not up yet, though I've completed all but one section on it.

Pistol: 18
SMG: 12
AR2: 13
OICW: 14
Railgun: 100, 150 max charged, 75 overcharged (no headshot/arm/legshot)
Sniper: 150

RPG: nerfed from 150 to 100
OICW nade: weak, like 85 damage max I think?



Yes, the Grav Gun has an inherent delay after it, which really infuriated me at the beginning. Unfortunately, I think this is the mod's "fix" for gravgun scrolling, though when I tried it manually, I could still rapid grav jump.

Built-in zoom would be nice, and it's possible since OICW has it. Only Magnum (mouse2?) and Alyx Gun (which already has a special fire) would get any benefit of it though.

So, you aren't going to even try it? It's free you know? Also, there are a few more things that stand out then a couple new weapons and powerups, like oooh, explosion jumping, walljumping, 7 unique game modes, just to name a few. Give it a look and report back. Get in a game of at least 4 v 4 before you make any real opinions.


ps, parenting the flag to a player compared to hl2ctf is amusing. It's cool that it can be done, but it looks terrible.

You forgot the biggest thing. No, it's not the entirely improved movement. No, it's not the new guns or runes.

It's the fact that YOU CAN SHOOT WHILE HOLDING THE FLAG.
