Lets just hope they stay true to their roots with hl3. I have my suspicions with valve getting into the console gaming race, they will dumb down the multiplayer, if they even have one at all...

Agreed. It also took me a bit to dig up this website, lol. I think it's been a year since I was on last at least.

Regardless there won't be multi-player similar to HL2DM.

Thanks for finding this death! This is the first positive/non-rumorish news I've heard. I certainly hope they focus just as much attention on multiplayer even though it seems it may not be likely, but one can hope!

You're welcome.

The only reasons most of these FPS games are even mildly successful these days, is because of the multiplayer. See the Call of Duty franchise or the Battlefield franchise for instance. If they don't put some effort into the multiplayer portion of the game, they're going to burn out the desirability of the game when it comes to longevity.

Confirmed for bullshit a few days ago, so still no news on HL3.

Where did you find this? There's no news, because they merely so far have saved the copyright for the name.

There's also this: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/technology ... ty-2334759

Not sure what the validity is in that link though.

The trademark was fake, as far as everything else I'm just at a point where I'm waiting for news directly from Valve.

Ah I wasn't aware. I don't really care about games anymore to where I'm so stuck on them releasing or not. Vaporware games end up coming out eventually, and I'm sure the same will be the case with HL3.

The last time I can remember seriously anticipating a potentially vaporware game was when I was waiting years for UT3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl to come out.

Hmmm...ign is a fairly trustworthy site that does their research (or at least I thought so). I would think there would be a retraction on their website if they realized they made a mistake?!?! Oh well, I think there will be rumors of HL3 for possibly years to come, just enough to keep our mouths salivating!
