SLI

Is it possible to SLI different card models if they are both made by nvidia. My friend wants to SLI his 8600 and 6800.

Possible? I have no clue about SLI.

nope not possible. xfire has a solution so you can put different cards together (IMO ati sux).

Yeah I wouldn't try it, as far as I know they HAVE to be the same model. Even with cards like the 8600GT and 8600GTS; pretty sure they have to be exactly the same.

They must use the same GPU. They CAN be from different Manu. and have different buffer sizes or speeds.
I dont think a 6800 even has an SLI link.
