not that new to the game (feb 08) but im new to the forums here.

quick question, seen that thread about the fios tournament. wth would verizon give some video game jockey 100k to play this game? what was the reasoning behind the tournament?

Hi Rach! Verizon had some money to advert FIOS (The Internet Optics) and wanted a game that was different and got it.
They were simultaneously developing PlayLinc to compete with whatever (Xfire? Steam?)
The format was all day play- one match an hour or so for a week if i remember, points, playoff for the top 50 (i think) and a trip to CA for the 8 finalists.
You sir have been playing a lot!
