I played the first and still play the best multiplayer game ever made (Half-Life 1 deathmatch). Lately I have been playing a bit of HL2 and thought about porting a few of my old maps over to the source engine for HL2 Deathmatch.
A couple of the maps I have made for first Half-Life 1:

The idea is to remove many of the back areas that never get used or that people get lost in. I hope to concentrate more of the fight to the central area of the map. I also plan to add more ramps/stairs instead of using so many ladders. Maybe add some turbo ladders that I read about here on your forums. I will post some screenshots soon and request help from this community before I release... because I suck at weapon placement and all the new source mapping goodies that should be included in all new releases.
