Demo Trouble..

Hey, whenever I try to play demos, i get this "Engine Error." I've tried everything I could think of, i verified the cache files and defragmented them..idk what else to try before i reinstall, anyone know anything about it?
When i try to play a dem, it act like its loading it normal, then hl2 crashes completely and this window pops up.

It happens on all of my demos, but the numbers in the parentheses change with each different demo.

This happens when you record a demo and try to watch it back immediately, or is it demos that are older? Does it happen on lockdown?

It's happening to all of my demos, new ones i've recorded and past ones I've watched before.

what does console say?

I haven't really changed anything lately, and the game completely crashes when it happens, so i can't read console :/

I googled the error and found a similar thread on a different forum but its for css; the principal is the same and it should work for hl2dm if you just know what folders he's talking about.
