not sure this is the best place for this topic... but it ultimately relates to making a frag vid.

lets say i want to take a drawing, or still image... and put it onto a vid of a fire in the background. maybe make the still image rotate, or spin, or enlarge, or whatever. what kind of software do i need for that?

its an idea i'm kicking around for a frag vid intro. nothing long at all.

Flash has been suggested. but wouldn't it have to be converted to avi?

maybe a moderately priced vid editor... that is greenscreen capable?

tried google, but im getting too many trash responses to weed through... cause i don't know wtf i'm actually looking for or how to word it.

thanks for any suggestions.

what you are looking for is Adobe After Effects its a SF programe I pretty much made my whole trailer with the programe. Its pretty good and what you have told you want to do is pretty ease to do with the programe but ofcourse same with photoshop requires some time to do tha advance stuff but i think you looking for something basic which in this case will not be a problem.

YIKES! :o

that shit is expensive.

i cant justify that for 15 seconds in a frag vid. :?

ya, thats sorta not my thang.

looks like half a dozen or so different freebies out there.... capable of this or that. i wont find a free one in all program. so i'll try to cobble bits and pieces from different programs.

never heard of it so not much help here but if it similar to after effects like keyframes, expressions, camera setup then i might be able to help. I do a quick search to see if i can help in anyway.

Just had a look see well it not like after effects because after effects is strictly a 2D program that can make the illusion of 3D if you know how to use it with special editor effects think it as photoshop mixed with sony vegas. Blend 3d well is like Auto CAD maya it the sort of stuff film makers use to animate 3d models now I know allot of 3d modeling like in alias studio from my studies but never gone in to animating them this.

Now using this sort of program has a big learning curve and for what you where asking for which was to be able to move picture well this goes well pass that and may not be suitable for what you originally wanted to do. But if you want to have a go at it why not but learning that this stuff takes long especially if your don't know the principles of modeling btw thanks for bringing this program to my attention looks good may be when I got some time on my hands i give it a crack always looking for new programs to learn and add to my CV.
