Why those two and only those two?

Joyride was in 1v1 for a season, though it was a bit large and didnt see much play. It should actually play quite well 2v2; decent flow, clean brushwork / movement and good pickup / prop amounts.
Warlock is far too random and cramped, and the many sawblades + long narrow passages isnt a good combo. It plays better as a pub. There are also a number of clipping issues that need fixing before its solid for league play.

What is being replaced? I quite liked the 2v2 list with the exception of lost village.

vault i believe.
I still stand by dm_lostarena as it has been requested in many 2v2 scrims i have done over the off-season. I went through my ss's and i have about 14 scrims on it (that i ss'd anyway). I thought it would be a shoe-in for 2v2 but it has been shot down. Even did a 4v4 just to see what that was like, although i don't recommend that for league play at all. I think 2v2, it plays well.

I think LA is fine as a 2v2. So far it has held up ok in our weekly fusion scrims.

I agree with vault being replaced, the overall map is great for teamplay, but it's just too conflicting with hl2dm league play, constant spawns without grav gun and physics glitches.

Vault has only slightly more flow than a build map- tons of random dead ends, ladders etc. Its also full of props that are either useless or dont work at all.
Im also up for lostarea, though im not sure what it should replace- amplitude, perhaps, if its still in the 2v2 list.
I would like lost arena also, that and caverns are 2 of my favorite 2v2 maps

eesh @ lostarena, i find there arent enough weapons for a 2v2 nor enough health and armor.

it's as spread out as possible, that one cubby is like..... it only has shotgun ammo box in it which is odd since it's a great place to duck into for a sec. But other then that the map has;
8 large hp packs, 3 small packs, 1, mega hp, 1 hp charger.
7 armor packs, 1 small charger
3 mags, 3 shotguns, 2 smg nades, 6 nades, 2 x-bows, 2 combine balls, 1 Ar2
2 plants, 4 barrels (1 doesn't respawn) bunch of boxes and 2 pains of glass
didn't do the ammo boxes but it has at least 2 of each; 357, shotgun and x-bow ammo spread out

It has plenty of pickups, just a different proportion of things. It will offer a different type of play that won't be the RPG, SMG nade whore fest that most of the other maps have. I suspect the main opposition is the fact that it has no RPG. For those of us that aren't enamoured with the damn RPG, it might be nice to have a map or two where the RPG is not the backbreaker of the other team and you have to race to get control of it first or the match is basically lost.

dunno if i've played joyride 2v2 in a scrim, but i've pubbed on it, and played soem great 1v1s on it, so its got my vote.
i would also strongly suggest lostarena.

Well it was a fairly close race, but with a 17 to 12 vote, Joyride gets the nod.
