CAL Website countdown

I don't know if anyone else noticed the countdown timer on the CAL website, but I've been reading a ton of rumors about it ranging from CAL is shutting down because the new owners haven't renewed hosting to the return of the CPL (doubtful right now)

This seems to be the most legit answer I have found but it's still unconfirmed, if it is true CAL has been talking about renovating things and possibly funding LAN's (probably CSS) this isn't the first time I've heard of their new anti cheat, auto demo recorder is what I want.

I guess I'll just have to wait for the clock sadface.

Rumors have been spreading across the web now about the CAL league timer. Some have been saying that it is a possible announcement about the return of the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) and possibly an event. Turns out, the timer was added to commemorate the hiring of CAL's Network Operations Manager, Garett Picchioni.

CAL also went on to tell us that they have big plans for the future; A new website is in the works as well as a new ACS system.

A CAL official had this to say,

"CPL has promised to surprise the community with prizes and a new Pay-to-Play format for Ladders and Online Cash League that are in development. Along with a v4 website AND a new ACS system that includes: Chat, scrim features, and an auto demo recorder," a CAL Game Manager and Manager of Media Operations told us.

This isn't the first time I've heard this but I imagine any winnings are going to the CSS crew.

Cals been claiming these prize leagues/ladders are coming for years now. Ill believe it when i see it.

And ya, chances of hl2dm seeing much if any of the prizepot are damn slim anyway. Though ill be there if it happens!

It's amazing what the combined efforts of /b/tards can do. It's too bad they can't unite on bigger issues and get results.
