Seems like a waste of time, as almost every previous killbox league has disintegrated long before playoffs, but glhf to whoevers feeling lucky enough to try!

Ok, here is my proposition:

Killbox League

3 divisions

Novice
Medium
Advance

[players sign up themselves to the level the believe to be but admins can move people to the right level if needed]

We take maps and settings already voted for for the cal kb league.

FFA 12 people matches for 2 pre and 8 regular season

Everyone must complete the 8 weeks in order to place

Winner of each division is the person with their accumulated number [kills minus deaths]

im down pomp. only thing is, normally KB games are a race to the fag limit. set it as 20 mins and only count the frags. that will make for intense, high speed, action matches. my server is now set up with EYE settings because i have discovered the joy of listening to music and fragging at the same time. so we can use my server. EYE has a good low ping USA server we can use as well. i know i would play, and i know of atleast 3 or 4 EE's that would play too.

lol Val <3's ya

Chem, well I guess that is something we can discuss, I always loved the settings at eye, we can always take a vote on that, make it more official. I know there are still a lot of players that enjoy killboxes, myself included and with 3 divisions no one would get pwned so badly that they would never set foot in dm again D:

Fast and furious is definetly the way to go with killboxes, the more the merrier, perhaps is not really a team sport and more true deathmatch, you have to hold your own.

We can select 1 admin per division, set the weekly match on a convenient day, that way the admin doesnt get overwhelemd with a million little matches, I doubt that there will be more than one match unless we get a lot of people but.. heh...

Anyways, I think it's worth discussing further ;)

Well youre gona need a helluva lot more people for 3 divisions Pomp, and lets not jump to full speed just yet ok? 3 KB divisions just may not be doable the first time out.

Well if its ffa i think 3 divisions would work, im in :)

Yes, we were starting to roll when they pull the plug on us, there was interest and people started to play their matches. Paradox has more experience running them so I will suggest then reducing to 2? Mid level and Advance level? New players can look forward to getting good enough to enter, we can also cap the amount of players in the beginning. Realistically we are talking about 2 matches once a week for 10 weeks, they would have to be recorder by the admin as far as scores and everything, no self reporting, I think it is doable and I think we can generate enough attention once it's set up to get involvement, I think it's important to create more competition to keep the game alive

Maybe either the U or Warzone can integrate in their current competitions?

Keeper

KB is completely different from stock, so I think the "league" would have to be thought up of .... erm ... outside the box so to speak.

The KB is made, as chem said, to let loose and have fun. Anybody that's played me knows that my primary mission is to JIHAD. That being said, I'm sure a format can come together that is appealing to a wide base. I think start off with a single group and see what evolves. Putting too much organization into it will be a waste of time and make things harder for a group of people that may or may not have played competitively before.

Please make this happen, I'll talk to Da1 as best I can.

Shinigami

2009-07-29 20:06:56

I agree on too much organization, I think we done some good ground work already, settings, maps, etc. KBH and Eye are kind of their own thing, that is why we kind of found a happy medium for cal.

I believe most of the interest was the 1v1 anyway, so what better than FFA, in my opinion. I mean to me a killbox full of people just going nuts killing each other is what DM is about

If we have one admin per division, put a cap on entry just in case we get swamped with more players in one division that others and so on, no self report but the admin records the matches and scores, I think we can do it :P
