true story:

in college these idiots (who lived on the floor) took all of our toilet paper and threw it in the showers and turned on the water as a prank. the ppl who werent involved asked them why they did that.
they replied: "lol, it was a prank dude"

we obviously asked them "why didnt you do this to one of the other floors? now we have no toilet paper you fucking morons"

they looked at each other dumb founded. our floor went the next 2 days without toilet paper and had to inconvienence ourselves to go down to the 3rd floor to take a shit.

vac cant ban lua because lua is all client side scripts. its all .txt files. vac allows client side script, it doesnt allow outside progams.

I would be less than shocked to hear eram admit he knows nothing.

Does garrys mod not use lua scripts? Wouldn't they all be banned?

i remember getting a comment on a topic before about how using bhop was not an exploit from a "Volunteer" moderator which was dismissed by the other debater they only have a limited range of info on the topics they cover they are in no way informed of the whole range of items valve covers they are only there to be babysitters not parents

yeah but actual hacks are outside programs that alter the actual game itself. lua works because of a loop hole in the source code for the games and lets you bypass the servers cheat settings with only .txt files. and yeah lua is pretty much based of garrys mod from what i understand

.lua can't activate VAC. I've tried :)

@chem Most hacks use something called hooks, iirc, so like if it's an executable it "hooks" onto hl2, I think (not entirely sure). Lua is a scripting language, LSS takes advantage of a source engine bug, allowing you to use these scripts at will. But if you don't know what you're doing you can make a lua script that ends up hooking, which will trigger VAC. so technically the volunteer is right, but "lua" isn't a hack, it's a language with which you can abuse hacks.

@general Garry's mod is almost solely based on lua, but VAC is not fully active in gmod. Also, in many aspects, while it is still Lua gmod is muuuuuuuuch more flexible in terms of what you can do with the language, because LSS is just a plugin. LSS was never intended to be a cheat plugin, but since it can alter ConVars, shitties make cheap r_drawothermodel wallhax.

or because Gmod is so open ended and i built around the idea of "hacking" the game. not in a bad way but still. ..
