Honestly I'm not sure why more of the community hasn't played pro, to me its got so much more to offer. There are so many more game modes, things which make it fun to break up the same old same old and some of the bugs are fixed in pro.
The last release 1.92 did have a much better hit registration and netcode and it was obvious, the spread ratio for the shotgun was not correct though and it was way overpowered.
I'm looking forward to 1.94 and only hope these things are worked out and a few more people will give it a shot, pro mod is so customizable it's just sick we the community could do just about anything with it.

u mean sifting through this forum for rants about how the game is dying is better?
no offense i just find it funny ppl would rule out a chance for something better.

my logic:

Valve made HL2DM > HL2DM is buggy > Valve won't find HL2DM > People rant > Pro mode fixes HL2DM > People Play Pro Mod > People Happy

Possible aftermath:
Valve sees Pro Mod > Valve promotes Pro Mod to Official Valve Mod > Everyone Plays Pro Mod > HL2DM is aLIVe

well, ive been trying it out with neo some this weekend. as someone completely new to pro... its a bit overwhelming. while there's something to be said for choices... there may be too many choices. if people dont stick with vanilla dm because its too compicated, why would they try pro? i can see the potential for this mod, but manoman there's a steep learning curve... just to figure out how best to use your settings. lol

and then you have so few servers, mostly euro. some with 1.9.3, some with 1.9.2, i think i even saw one with an older version than those. kinda sucked to join a server only to realize you cant play cause you have a diff version.

i'll keep trying it out from time to time. i do like the movement much better than vanilla dm.

Pro when used in season 1 of cal, they updated it and changed some things to vanilla hl2dm, so they were forced to drop its use. It was used in all of season 1 of STA with no problem, but then right before season 2 of sta Pro was completely broken by some stupid buggy game and wasn't used or even thought of using again in a NA league.

At this point if pro is stable, it would be worth using for league play.
I think a different format for the draft is in order, and possible.
I was going to announce this new format was waiting to see what the other draft admins thought, but they have yet to respond after 4 days....

I'm just speaking from past experience, i would love for everyone to prove me wrong and see a bunch of people scrimming on pro, i just have my doubts.

i know you were man and really wasn't trying to be an ass but honestly it looks like many ppl just like bitching even when a solution to their so called problem is presented to them. talk about pro, talk about a new possible league.

also - on Pro - for one, we can simply TALK to the developers. as oppose to Valve, here you have a LIVE person and WILLING to make the mod better. i happen to also think the options menu is too elaborate and should be access differently.
about the amount of servers available - what exactly do you expect? lol if this was a widely known / used mod we wouldn't be really having this debate would we.
another thing, note that most people don't even understand there's a vanilla mode in Pro. most think Pro is just about the Gauss gun and that's that.
it takes no more than a few minutes to DL and install it. less than looking for a lulz clip on youtube.

@CD: We're not talking about playing Pro mode on Pro mod, we're talking about playing the Vanilla mode, so there is no greater learning curve or need to reconfigure your conf as the mod is just the same as regular DM with less bugs.

Pro mod will only be as good as you guys want it to be and since hardly any of you makes suggestions or report bugs it's never going to fulfil it's potential. If want want to see HL2DM improve then play Pro mod, get involved in the community and help them develop it. If you want HL2DM to die do nothing.

It's smoother than HL2DM and you tend not to get stuck on/in every single prop.

It might feel different if you've been playing normal HL2DM for X amount of years but you'll soon get used to it. Then when you play normal DM you'll notice how rough/buggy(ofc) it is. Give it a chance (more than 5 minutes)

Exactly I'm thinking of playing the drafts in Vanilla Mode. Maybe in the pre-post match have it in another mode, like the arena 1v1 mode so everyone can warm up but the draft matches would actually be played in Vanilla Mode. I prefer playing in Promod its a lot smoother than reg DM is. And it really doesn't take that much effort to set up. Maybe we could have just a quick night of people playing in pro outside of draft night to see how many people would be willing to play.

works fine for me but it is more "timing sensitive" cant be slow on the switch and apparently you cant use last_inv on the wheel or you will have problems.
