Melee.... wtf?

Last night ninjins refered to tmb's match with flas, and how i "wasn't trying, just using the melee" sortly after the tmb offspring, xa, tells us they're not going to match us anymore because we use melee, and thats cocky.

if i go head to to head with somone who has an rpg, and i'm just using a crowbar/stunstick, i sure as hell hope you think im trying.

and to say its cocky.. is.. lawl

whats everyone else's stance on this?

Melee is often overlooked, I know I don't usually use it, but its quite a good tactic in certain situations, rocket being one of them. As I've stated before, use whatever weapon fits the situation, with absolutely no thought whatsoever as to whether its "lame" or not. If your running at someone who has full hp/armor with a stunstick thats either stupid or not trying, and i do consider not trying/giving up to be lame. but if theyve got rocket and you think they will suicide, blah blah... then by all means lol

Me loves the stunstick.

If you kill with it you aren't cocky, you just take your opponent by surprise.
There's a guy in our clan that loooooves it. His #1 weapon: (stunstick: K:3164;D:482 )




People just don't know how to counter it. If they've got the RPG then they are
going to jihad or die by the stick. I don't move worth a crap, but some of you
guys who do can really piss people off with the melee. I can see why some
would think it's cocky, but they are wrong. It's a good tactic IMO.

Besides, getting hammered by the stunstick is how I keep my good looks

It all depends on your score. If you are holding your own with it, then fuck em.

If you are losing the match for your team, then team management should handle it post-match by asking you to leave the team.

LOL but in all seriousness, whether you're having fun on a pub or playing in a match the stunstick, just like the rpg, is another weapon. It's in the game, use it at your will.

stunstick or like Boneless use to call it "Lighting penis"

old [TMx] ginger/toad/juice/cleiric would win 4v4s using almost only the stunstick.

Cocky would be killing (with any weapon) then shouting in chat "BAHAHA I KILLED YOU!" :\

They have the same potentiality as you do with it comes to melee, and like Zman said, it's a weapon like any other in the game, to not use it AT ALL would make you kinda unbalanced

Crowbars and Stunsticks take a hell of alot more effort then RPG's do. (depending on the map.. but usually, and especially if you're trying to melee him when he's using an RPG )

Valve sets up Hl2dm to be pretty much equal for everyone (Valve sets things up so people can't bitch.) They just never realize that it's not the game they have a problem with, it's themselves.

i sure hope i wasnt drunk, but i still hate you.

The crowbar and stunstick is probably the most effective weapon you could use in close combat if you dont have a shotgun and there are no props or explosives to pick up.
I cant tell you how many times Ive been in a close mag or shotgun battle or both and come reload time, if Ive already exhausted everything (spam) I always go to crowbar or stun stick over smg and pistol for the finish. I'd say it works more than 75 percent of the time and its even better if the opponent is trying to run for hp.

I never really had it bound for along time, once I did and started to use it I was thinking how stupid I was for not using it before.

Some of my best movement comes when I'm crowbaring one or more than one person. My usual melee combo is 357 while charging and finish with the crowbar. Of course, that doesnt stop me from just basically saying 'fuck it' in a pub and crowbar anything that moves.

every once in a while somebody gets under my skin I will pump crossbow bolts into the corpse.

I don't understand how people whine about the crowbar in this game and call it cocky to use, when knifing in cs 1.6 used to be a laudible kill. People who got lots of knife kills were touted as uber and praised! How have gamers sunken so low!? The way I look at it if you manage to bludgeon some one to death with a blunt object, while they are trying to shoot the shit out of you, thats badass. That should warrant a "Fuck yeah, nice kill man!" For all those bitches out there who think people who use the crowbar/stunstick are cocky, your all pussies. I mean really! how can you whine about a melee weapon in a game FULL of ranged weapons....whew alright good rant, good rant.

Exactly and it's hard to whine about 1 weapon and not whine about the others. I personally hate combine balls especially when people whore them out. But I just yell and cuss at my computer screen and get over it. Some people also only use the smg and it drives me nuts when I'm using everything in my arsenal to kill someone who just stands there. I used to HATE the rpg like some people but then if I bitch about every weapon how are they supposed to kill me? Just tell them to not use any weapons? lol I just get over and every weapon was put in the game for a reason. If it's in the game it's fair to use.

I come to praise the stunstick. That thud-zzzzzt is so satisfying. I love it when you have someone cornered and they lose it and fumble for something, anything and then it is over.
It is especially awesome when you avoid a bunch of Bow shots while closing and they don't realize you are almost on top of them and you strafe and zzzzt, its over.

It is a very good finisher and requires work on good movement skills.

I'm a big fan of running into the room crowbar at hand while people are too busy taking each other out to notice me. Then I kill everyone else.

Also a big fan of leaving players going 'wtf just happened??!' by charging at them with the crowar head on. and killing them. Like I said My movement is insane when I melee.

I love the crowbar especially now that its been brought back to normal on linux servers

I loves the crowbar and stick. Using them have helped me with movement quite a bit, which bleeds over to other aspects, like jumping/avoidance.

As much as i love melee, going against a shotty master with full health and some armor is just plain dumb.
And something i do when i am drunk, like Stowned.

melee in close combat after damaging your enemy can very really useful from time to time.
The problem is that most people can't stand dying with meele, and get mad. I know it cause I notice it, and even I get mad from time to time, but I usually tend not to say anything, just wait to get my revenge

Heh good choice for a bump Impala, I love the crowbar. Yeah usually people think your trying to prove something when you kill them wiht the crowbar. They see it as saying, "I pwn you so hard I don't even need to use a gun!" instead of a just a finishing tactic. I try to use it as much as I can without putting myself in situations such as the one Impala described. using the crowbar has helped me a lot with movement during firefights. Crowbar pwns!

I love when someone picks up a crate and you stick that and then them.
Or, leapin into a three way fight where everyone is low on health and gettin 3 right quick with a little crowbar action.

It is true pleasure to steal an RPG with a stick attack.
Hell, there are dozens of cool things that can happen with the melee, including smackin your team mate a little.

@ Impala The rpg steal with the stick is always rewarding. I enjoy jumping on top of peoples head so they stop moving and just pounding them into the ground as they try and figure out why they stopped. ahahaha

It would be fun to get so good with the crowbar that your able to knock props that have been thrown at you out of the air. To then rush and crush their bum, all with only the mighty crowbar, weapon of ultimate domination. That would be pretty intimidating to see a dude advancing on you knocking all the props you throw away with his crowbar instead of gg. ahahah even more leet, I want to hit someones thrown nade back at them with the crowbar...that would be amazing.

Its funny as hell when someone's reaction to getting whacked is to come right after you with the crowbar. Its like "dammit! Its on now! Here is some of your own medicine, you @#$%^&*(^%$#$~!"

My all time fav that I ever did with the crowbar involved staulking someone for a while and some creative sound effects. So I was trying to follow this guy without him noticing, and got I kinda bored enventually. (he was REALLY easy to follow) So I decided to start making the jaws sound (dun dun....dun dun....dun dun) as I was folowing him and as i got closer I would speed up the sound like in Jaws. Then as I attacked him I did a building climax and then started in to the horror movie "Reee-Reee-Reee-Reee-Reee" as I whacked him with my crowbar. The funniest part was how his playing changed as the jaws sound got faster, he knew I was getting closer and started to play more franticly. Bahahahah I AM JAWS FEAR ME! rofl

It was totally Pubmasters intermission style with some added soundeffects. Pubmasters is one of my favorite CS vids that can be found on youtube if you search for "pubmasters."
