Do you know left from right?
listen for the dry fire of the grav gun when players spawn (onyl happens if they spam fire) may not apply to many players here as the probably spawn with a nade?
listen for HEV and HP being picked up they make big noise
Stop and listen se if you can hear enemy coming
A quality pair of headphones will help also
Easy to show in-game, if you want to get with me sometime.
yeah doing it in game with someone is the best way to learn how to use it. You pretty much have to work on each map you plan to use it on. Have a friend go to each pick up while you stand in different areas, have him tell you where he is at and then listen for the pickup, get to know where it sounds like it is and how strong or how faint the sound is from where you are standing. Takes some practice but you will start to recognize it. Lockdown is one of the better maps to try to learn this on, but if you don't play LD much it wont help you on other maps.

In my sound drivers there is "test" option that produces like a music, while it turns around you.... you will notice how it varies.. maybe you have the same ;o
Sorry I haven't added you yet, I was on vacation. Tonight, for sure.

You can't really rely solely on sound, map/spawnpoint knowledge is a must in order to ''enchance'' a game based on sound. If i hear someone spawn but i never played the map ie: i hear him somewhere on the left but thats it. On feudal (or any cal maps really) if i hear someone spawn, ill know EXACTLY where he is and if i hear(or dont hear) any weapon/item picked up it now gives me more accurate sound positioning but you must KNOW the map you're playing on.
