again i need help with my fps..

my pc crash totally.. i have to format c:

now i have all programs and hl2dm installed.. but my fps is 30-40.. before crash fps was 150-230...
i try to change 3D settings.. but nothing.. i try also nvidia ntune, but no.. not help..

AMD athlon 64 processor 3500+, 2.5GB ram, nvidia GeForce 8500 gt 512 silent magic.
its old pc... but it work fine.. have to get my settings right.. if anyone know how..

Step one, make sure vertical sync is turned off
Step two, drivers.

Step 3. something may be wrong with the vid card.

use my fps enhancer?
if u used to be fine...as they said drivers probably... try optimizing the pc too, and check the settings are all correct (like the Vsync)

i have new driver settings what i find nvidia site.. hmm.. if i try find little older driver.. ???
i am so n00b to do any settings.. i just play.. lol..

I'm thinking its most likely VSync now, check under video -> Advanced, last one before AA and AF. Also check it in Nvida control panel.

I believe that vid card has one of the nvidia chipsets that is faulty, and prone to overheating...could be an issue.

damn..

i get my fps about 60-80 when i turn off v sync.. nvidia panel and game settings...

hmmmm.... now working.. strange.. i remove nvidia drivers and then i run fujitsu siemens drivers and utilities cd... its install something and now works fine.. fps 120-220
